2017 Women's World Championships

Re: 2017 Women's World Championships

What's the US goalie's history? She's not coming up in the rolodex.

Nice forechecking by Canada during the US power play to keep the US hemmed in their end for about 25-30 seconds.

You need a fast shutter speed to capture Coyne.

No score after one. Both teams had some chances, but couldn't convert. As usual the Americans had the puck more, but the Canadians are playing good team D, blocking shots and mostly keeping the puck on the perimeter.

Re: 2017 Women's World Championships

Thanks, the name sounded familiar but just couldn't place her but I seem to recall her playing in last year's Worlds for US...is that right?

Blown defensive coverage by Fast in front leaving Decker unattended.

US with more opportunities but Canada with 2 posts and Hensley didn't know where the puck was.

Thought the flat screen was malfunctioning for the first time by ghosting images then I realized it was just Coyne skating by.

Good forechecking by Canada and, as always, good speed by US.

Re: 2017 Women's World Championships

Bless her heart but Laura schuler is not the right coach for team canada women
With the limited time USA had to practice, it's impossible to make any judgments about what kind of job Rob Stauber is doing as coach. All you can say is that they don't look out of sorts as far as their team play is concerned. Just hope now that they didn't use up too much of the excitement and enthusiasm that was built up after all the drama they went through with USA Hockey.

It is sad that ken klee had to go because team usa women would cream team canada women at every event up to the olympics...this is a present for team canada...team usa women don't look 100% to me yet

Need agosta's heroics to save this team.

Re: 2017 Women's World Championships

Was thinking before the game started as the camera panned onto her..."she is always dangerous, dangerous, dangerous".
she is definitely the best player in women's hockey today.

Need Agosta to save the day. I want a goal from her.

Re: 2017 Women's World Championships

Good game. I blame Team USA.

Canada needs to spring Spooner with a few feet to work...such a phenomenal wrist shot (as she showed in the first period) and ultra dangerous on a breakaway.

Great job as usual by Rod Black, Cheryl Pounder, Tessa Bonhomme and Carla McLeod.

Canada hasn't scored in over 7 periods at the worlds! Credit the US with a lot of that...constantly took away space and time from Canada in the US zone tonight. Superior speed will allow you to do that.

Canada's defense was starting to make mistakes in the third and taking too long to make decisions although there were some nice defensive plays as well...one memorable one by Kryzaniak as I recall I think in the second period.

And I guess those 800+ saves per game at Lindenwood that T-Cubed mentioned held her in good stead honing her skills. Hensley made a few very nice saves tonight...she looked sharp and confident.

(And the US has Rooney waiting in the goaltending wings so Canada had better start shooting practice post haste to break this scoring slump).
