2017 Women's D-III NCAA Selection Thread

Re: 2017 Women's D-III NCAA Selection Thread

Aurora, Trine, and King's College are the one's I am aware of starting next year. And, as mentioned, Suffolk in 2018-19.

I was playing with the mileage calculator on the NCAA site and if Trine can hit the ground running like an Endicott, they would be a second Western team within 500 miles of Elmira...though in the real world it will likely be sometime before we see some relief from the Elmira/Adrian QF game every year.

Re: 2017 Women's D-III NCAA Selection Thread

What does the 8:00 game have to do with anything?
Very Sorry, I miss read the Adrian/Stevens Point game site. Is there any reason (rule) in black and white, other than a suggestion or recommendation, that the NCAA can't decide to have an Eastern site this year and try again next year? As in only one western team making it to the finals and not having to fly three teams?

The "1 out of 4 years" rule is technically unwritten, but at the summer meeting of the DIII Women's Ice Hockey Committee, they formally decided that the highest-seeded West team with adequate facilities would host. Obviously, that means it is in black and white in the official report from that meeting.

Re: 2017 Women's D-III NCAA Selection Thread

I would imagine that they're a little shocked that they are there themselves.

If you would have told me a month ago that two MIAC teams would be in the tournament I would have laughed at you :). But I'll take it.

yes well we are all laughing at the ncaa because getting those ****ty western teams in was a total JOKE...apparently even a dum@*** like you realizes that the selection was a travesty [i know gomer, its a big word, but look it up] but hey those Jackets are a real choking powerhouse!! and the academics, just beyond awesome with that 78% acceptance rate..u go girl!!

Awww someone had a little too much to drink tonight. The poopy western teams are still better than the mediocre NESCAC. What surprised me is how epically the NESCAC teams failed at qualifying for the tournament. Essentially had a gift wrapped second team and couldn't even do enough to win that, to be better than Endicott or Utica...lol. Thanks for bringing up the yellowjackets...as if they have any relevance to this discussion or thread.

Im really curious who you felt was more deserving.

This is my first "season" on this forum since my daughter is a freshman and by and large I've been pleasantly surprised at the level of discourse, agree or disagree everyone tends to be civil. \

I find it uncalled for that your posts tend to drip with sarcasm and make comments like this one about acceptance rates and academic rigor. We get it, you attended a highly ranked school, good for you, you should be proud. My alma mater is McGill up in the great white north, I'll put that up against any school, any time, but I certainly won't disparage any other school.

You can argue the pros and cons of East vs. West from a hockey perspective but be respectful of the achievement/decisions all these girls have made.

CC has taken too many sticks to the head so you'll have to forgive him. Anyone with half a brain knows that any school is what you make of it. There are plenty of successful people and unsuccessful people that graduate from every school out there, even McGill, Harvard, etc.

McGill is a great college. Quite a few Plattsburgh Attorneys graduated from McGill.

Please note that I'm only rude to crosscheck. (and to an extent Call It...even though I'm not entirely convinced they aren't the same person). I don't believe crosscheck actually went to a NESCAC but has a kid there. A kid that must be embarrassed by their parents behsvior. Irregardless they are not a good representative of the conference they support. I'm fairly certain the NESCAC schools do not promote that behavior. With my career choice...a teacher...it would have been stupid for me to go to a college that has a 50,000 per year tuition. I probably had the gpa, test scores, etc to get accepted. But it wasn't financially responsible. So I paid $5000 a year for tuition and board, with scholarships to go to a school. Where I learned chemistry and how to teach it.

I never mean to disparage the hockey players just respond to the stupidity of the poster.

I remember the years when NESCAC schools did not participate in the NCAA tournament. They could only participate in the NESCAC tournament. That was many years ago though.

My post was specifically aimed at CC. It's quite apparent in your posts that you are targeting some of the more outlandish claims by CC but I haven't seen any "school bashing" or "player bashing" from you. I find yours amusing, his just mean spirited.....

Re: 2017 Women's D-III NCAA Selection Thread

Ah the good old days. Lol.

The good old days during which Middlebury won ECAC women's titles from 1995-1996 until 2000-2001 and the only 2 AWCHA championships in 1999-2000 and 2000-2001? Those good old days?

No, the good old days, when the NESCAC teams didn't participate in the NCAA tournament. Hehehe.
