He's definitely a power hitter. I was just looking at his splits and a few things jumped out to me: (1) He has only 3 Home Runs in August. He had 27 in April-May-June; (2) He is currently on pace to hit 49 HRs, which would tie the rookie record; (3) 20 of his 37 home runs are solo shots, which leads to; (4) He only has 80 RBIs...would have guessed he would be floating around 100 with how many homers he has; and (5) He was hitting a HR about every 10 ABs before the break (and about 1K/2.75 ABs)...since the break it is about 17 ABs/HR (and about 1K/2ABs). It certainly seems as though he has lost a lot of momentum, and the league has caught up to him a bit.

That being said, I hate the Yankees, and I hope he strikes out in every at bat he takes while wearing the pinstripes. :p:D:D

Meh, it's been proven that he's struggling to lay off the low and outside, particularly slider/curve. Easier/quicker for pitchers to exploit than for him to adjust.

Also had a nearly historic first half, not surprising that there's a regression.

Kinda actually pumped for this SNB. Super cool that the MLB worked in a game in Williamsport and are including the kids through the day before the game.

DiMaggio isn't in the era of specialized pitchers. No knock on Joey D, helluva hitter. But in this day and age with holders and closers....

As far as Aaron goes, pitchers are figuring him out. He hasn't caught up to that yet. We'll see if he can adjust.

A guy with as big a frame as he has (and as big a swing) will have holes. And in this day and age, no holes go unexploited for long. A fantastic rookie year, but let's see how he is hitting in two years. And how Yankee fans are treating him.

No link, but umpires got their feelings hurt by Ian Kinsler, and started wearing wristbands in solidarity. They will remove the wristbands pending meeting with Manfred.

Bartolo Colon added another impressive achievement to his extensive resume Sunday.

Afforded a nine-run lead in the first inning at Target Field, the 44-year-old right-hander - who joined the Minnesota Twins' rotation in July - secured that elusive first career victory against the Arizona Diamondbacks, making him just the 18th pitcher since the league expanded in 1998 to beat all 30 MLB teams.

Mulholland was that long ago? He did it as a Twin as well, getting a win over the Tigers.

I'm amazed that Terry Mulholland was still in the majors in 2004. He started the All Star Game in 1993 and was in the majors in '86. He's not exactly one that you would think of that would have a 19-year career.

Rich Hill loses a perfecto in the 9th on an error, holds onto the no-no, but surrenders a walk-off HR in the 10th.

Well, you have the Neikro brothers, too, but knuckeballers usually last longer.

If your kid is a left-hander, teach him to be a closer. Insta-job if he's half-way talented.
