BC up 3-1 after first period.
HC up 1-0 on Sacred Heart after 1.

Minnesota up 3-0 on Mercyhurst after one period. Goals by Taylor Wente, Katie Robinson (shorthanded) and Alex Woken.

Minnesota up 4-1 after two periods. Cara Piazza scores the Gophers' second shortie of the game, before Sam Isbell restores some credibility to the Mercyhurst power play.

Clarkson 0 Vermont 0 after 1 period.

Clarkson's sensational freshman Elizabeth Giguere went down awkwardly into the boards on the first shift into the game. Looked like her skate tip caught a rut in the ice and she went shoulder and leg into the sideboard very hard. Appeared to be in a lot of pain and did not play the entire period. Scobee of UVM once again making a lot of great saves. Tiley stopped Picard on a breakaway. Clarkson outshooting UVM 17-5.

Period dominated by Clarkson.
McGill and Pezjlova with with pp goals.
Total Shots on goal: Clarkson 34 Vermont 9
No Giguere that period. Clarkson is also playing without one of their 2 top defensemen, Ella Shelton who is injured.

Another PP goal by McGill and an even strength goal by Gabel in the third.

Shots Clarkson 50 to 16.

18 of the Cornell shots came during six Cornell power plays (with six during a (edited) 6-on-3 end to the game).

I didn't see today's game, but yesterday was ECAC refs with whom I was not particularly happy. FWIW.

Mercy gave up 3 goals in about 4-5 minutes towards the end of the 1st with one short-handed by minn.. Then minn gets another sh goal at the beginning of the 2nd. Otherwise, the Lakers kept the pace with a very good Gophers team, pretty much having an equal shot count. Empty netter at the end. Gophers a finely tuned machine, very nice to watch.
