2017-18 Schedules Thread

Re: 2017-18 Schedules Thread

Some more updates on UW (per a Todd Milewski article)

The date of two of the Badgers' non-conference games for the 2017-18 season has been released.

North Dakota will play UW at the Kohl Center on Nov. 3 and 4, according to the Fighting Hawks schedule announced Wednesday. It's the start of the second half of a four-season contract that brought the Fighting Hawks here in 2014 and took the Badgers to Grand Forks in 2015.

After a year off in the 2016-17 season and North Dakota's trip to UW in 2017, the Badgers are scheduled to travel in 2018.

The Badgers also have contracts to play two games against Northern Michigan at the Resch Center in Ashwaubenon, two home games each against St. Lawrence and Mercyhurst and single games at Boston College and Merrimack in the 2017-18 season.

They had a deal to play a series at Michigan Tech next season in return for games in Madison in 2018-19, but that has been pushed back.

The Badgers are in discussions to play in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game in the 2017-18 season. That game doesn't count toward the 34-contest limit.

Looking at what is already on the schedule, I would guess that we can safely pencil in the 1 away at Merrimack for Oct 14 to match up with BC on Oct-13.

I had heard Oct 20-21 for the UW vs NMU in Green Bay series. Looking at what UW already has on the sheet as well as what the Resch Center in Green Bay is showing on their calendar, that seems to be the most logical date.

Does anyone have any information about the 17-18 Hall of Fame Game? Other teams being mentioned? Date and place?

Re: 2017-18 Schedules Thread

Anybody know what teams play BC on AWAY games ?

I'm trying to fill up my Fall Calendar.

Any game info is appreciated.

BC only has home games filled out on their schedule.

Spreadsheet should have most of that filled out; I think there's only a couple of gaps as to whom. As to when, that will come in due course.

Link to this year's spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1tOhCK4qXRHp0CRY8P3AswlwtPHWGdpk08c3pHev5-Fw/

Effectively complete* schedules:

ECAC: Non-travel partner conference schedule mostly released

NCHC: Conference schedule released
Colorado College
Miami
Nebraska Omaha
North Dakota
St. Cloud State

* Effectively complete meaning the school has released the schedule, or enough alternate information has been reported to determine the schedule is complete, minus exhibition games. Discretion will be used to determine whether WCHA teams will be using their entire allotment.

Re: 2017-18 Schedules Thread

Looks like it's 4 games short. :( Also, it looks like the Vegas tournament isn't going happen, unless they didn't include it here. But that would leave them 2 games short; will they try to fill that with club play, or stick with straight D-I? Obviously it's tough when you're independent, but I see the odd team leagues are already paying dividends.

The Vegas tournament is going to happen, along with them playing in a second tournament. The tournament hosts will announce the fields and they (ASU) are allowing for that to happen. Attending the banquet last weekend, both of these tournaments were addressed and the fields for both were also announced to the room. So stay tuned for that info coming soon.

Site locations for home games will happen once the Coyotes schedule is finalized.

Well that's at least good news it will be full. :) I'm a little befuddled as to the second tournament... Princeton looks full so there probably won't be a Brooklyn one, Kendell and Brice are gone as far as I can tell, I heard rumor that Shillelagh might not be happening this year (you're already playing that weekend anyway so it can't be that), a number of others are already full... only ones I think are remaining are Mariucci and Three Rivers; perhaps it's one of those?

BTW, I'll update the spreadsheet once I get to a place where I am able to access it.

Re: 2017-18 Schedules Thread

Speculation time... it was rumored that Mankato is going to BU. Given when Tech is playing ASU, and that HEA has an odd number of teams, it is possible that the Mankato/BU weekend is 16-17 February. Obviously there are plenty of other places where it could be, but given Mankato has to fit in 28 conference games and they have 36 games on the docket (they COULD play 38 but I doubt it will happen), perhaps that's the best place to fit it in?

Possibly, but given that WCHA playoffs start the first weekend of March, this would mean traveling to Boston on the next-to-last weekend of the regular season. Our schedule is already going to be odd this year (mid-week games against SCSU and UMD, with the second half of each home-and-home taking place on a weekend several weeks later), but I don't think the coaches want to get out of conference and out of the central time zone when a lot could be riding on the last weekend.

Re: 2017-18 Schedules Thread

The CCT/RPI game in Ireland is non conference.

Not according to the ECAC:
"RPI, Clarkson, Providence, and Maine will travel to Northern Ireland to first play against their conference rival in a league contest on November 24 for the right to compete for the 2017 Belpot Trophy the next night in the Northern Irish Connections Friendship Four Tournament."
