2016 World Junior Championship

Re: 2016 World Junior Championship

Disappointed that Sweden v Canada means nothing for standings...wonder how they'll play.
Finland 3
Czech 3
start of 3rd.

Re: 2016 World Junior Championship

....................and Canada just sucks this year.

Took a shootout to beat a Swiss team the US pummeled 10-1, and is down 2-1 to Sweden.

(Granted the US lost to Sweden, I just like saying Canada sucks)

Re: 2016 World Junior Championship

We all know how John Winger feels about going up against the Czechs.

And if we should get to the play the Russians Russell Ziskey has his own opinion about them.

Re: 2016 World Junior Championship

not guaranteed anything but i'd take this draw over alternatives.

I like not having to face Canada or Sweden until a Medal is on the line (or host Finland)...obviously Russia won't be easy...but the bracket could be worse...

Make that three.

Canada has pretty much all Major Junior players again, yes? Hey Don, you might want to take American development (i.e. NCAA) a little more seriously over there.

I don't think the NHL network is going to show the canada and Finland game which is disappointing.

Re: 2016 World Junior Championship

I think most of us appreciate the effect Soviet and European style of play had on North American hockey. Back in the 60s and 70s, what international play was there outside the WJC and Olympics? I'm just wondering how much of a role WJC and other play at that level had on the Soviet/European influence.
