2016 Open Wheel Racing- this Haas to be a great Roissing year.

Re: 2016 Open Wheel Racing- this Haas to be a great Roissing year.

This also sucks that this happened at the Belleville Nationals. That race was regaining a 2nd wind the last couple of years through a grassroots, crowd-funded effort. That just makes a horrible situation worse.

Absolutely.

Leaving early Friday morning. Oh and I won a hot ride lap for Sunday morning. :) Not the two-seater with Mario but still...

I raced at Pocono quite a while ago, and though it was on the infield road course, we used Turns 1 and 2 of the oval. Turn 1 is the highest banked turn of the three, yet it may not look all that banked when looking at it from the "outside" especially compared to the classic high banked ovals.

However, when you are on the track, that turn is freaking banked! When you enter the turn, you're like, "Holy sh--!" It will be a thrill for you.

You were right, it was amazing. Got up to 148 mph on the straightaway going into turn 2 with Gail Truess behind the wheel. Great experience.

Pretty great race yesterday if anyone got to watch it. Ended up staying another night and took the day off so we could stay for the race. Felt bad for RHR. Aleshin had an impressive weekend. Pagenaud is gonna choke like JPM did last year.

edit - oh and while getting in early and waiting for the hot lap by myself, I found AJ Foyt and got a selfie with him. My son was jealous of my Sunday morning that is for sure.

Watching the Belgian GP, makes my neck hurt just thinking about it.

Hard to imagine that he just ended up with a cut on his foot.

Although, today, he will feel like he ran into a barrier at +100mph. (better than "being hit by a truck) Which kind of sucks that he needs to be racing in Monza this weekend- so lots and lots of massages this week.

I know I'm turning into an Indy fanboy but a somewhat boring race in Texas went absolutely bonkers once Dixon crashed and brought out all sorts of yellows.

If you didn't see the resumption of the Texas race, watch it. It was some serious $hit. I held my breath for the last 10 laps thinking someone was going to get killed. Felt really bad for Hinchcliffe. Glad no one died.

Thou shall not lift at Eau Rouge.
I remember the last turn at Road Atlanta going on to the pit straight. It's down hill and very fast ( maybe 4000 in 4th) and most of the Ford drivers were doing it flat, but I had a really tough time doing it. sometimes, but not every time.
The best pass I ever saw was under the Bridge at Atlanta when, during the runoffs, two Atlantic cars went up the hill side by side, got light under the bridge and thru the turn and both came down together on the other side, the guy on the inside finally went ahead on the downhill when the outside guy lifted!

ICYMI - Formula E is coming to Brooklyn next year and there is also supposed to be a GT electric series as well.

What a crappy location. Of course, that's the only way they ever could have held a street race anywhere in the five boroughs. But, it's in a freaking shipyard.

Josef Newgarden leaves Ed Carpenter racing to move to THE CAPTAIN. Wow...not unexpected on Newgarden's part but for Penske to dump Montoya after 1 INDY 500 win and a 2nd place in the championship last season is interesting. I wish he'd have dumped Will Power instead.

Montoya to Carpenter or Foyt is the rumor.

and the talent pool of young american's seeking an Indycar ride is huge right now
Spencer Pigot
RC Enerson
Shelby Blackstock
Sage Karem

Will Conor Daly be back?
and the list goes on and on, this is as deep a crop of talented U.S. drivers as I've seen in a long long time
