2016 NCAA Rankings - 10/5 Good Buddy!

Not knowing anything about the MIAC but if their champ is not ranked I guess that means they're having a down year or is it a trend? If so, why? Minnesota is the "State of Hockey".

The MIAC is known for very good parity, but the top teams are generally below the top NCHA and WIAC teams in NCAA regional rankings (St Thomas is sometimes an exception to that and St Johns was very very good 10-12 years ago.)

The MIAC has produced the national runner up a few times, but I believe no national champion.

Off the top of my head St. Thomas in 2000 and Gustavus Adolphus in 2009 are two runner ups.

St. John's as you alluded to did have some very very good teams a decade ago and I know in the mid 90s they were strong too.

I believe also in 2005 St Thomas was the National runner-up.

Interesting in that Trinity & Plattsbugh reversed positions with Plattsburgh going to #3 and Trinty#4. Trinty had 2 wins while Plattsburgh had 2 ties last weekend:confused:

I'm pretty sure strength of schedule came into play, and the wins against Wesleyan having only a 2-14-8 record actually hurt Trinity.

For years we've ***** and complained we knew nothing behind the smokey room doors. ANY information is a plus in my book!

I understand and sympathize, but the committee's workings are the committee's not ours. If it starts getting out what went on, Prez (and Norwich) will be getting the blackball.

I simply said "correct" that Remy pointed out how close the SOS numbers got between Plattsburgh and Trinity.

Remy made an observation and I verified his observation that the strength of schedule numbers were closer than they were last week between those two teams.
