A stat I just realized has come to an end: From 1886-2016, not a single season went by that did not include Connie Mack or Vin Scully.

And tack on a 4th in the 9th, here comes Aroldis to try to eliminate the Giants.

In case you didn't know, the Giants have won like their last gazillion elimination games. FS1 hasn't done a good job of getting that across ;)

Cub fans now are what Red Sox fans were in 2003 before we figured out that Red Sox fans are drip slime. Cub fans are the only likable fans left in sports. For their own good, I hope they lose the NLCS.

Don't blame Red Sox fans who died with team in the decades prior to 2004. Blame the &%&$%5/%#!!!$## Pink Hats and the nouveau fans who think it is cool to root for the Sox while immersed in their cell phone.

I knew some Red Sox fans were drip slime before 2003; they were the ones who shat on Bill Buckner, just like there are some Cubs fans who persecuted Steve Bartmann. And there are some Cubs fans who seem to enjoy being miserable (they'll turn into the entitled types that now inhabit some of "Red Sox Nation.") But there were, and are, a lot of good Cubs fans who have loyally supported their team without being jerks or being antagonistic to other teams. Even if they are the minority (and I don't think they are), I'm rooting for the Cubs because of them.
