Opening day will arrive in a few days. For us old farts, and to eddicate you young'ns, peruse this map of Upper Manhattan / South Bronx

On the right, in the South Bronx (birthplace of my father - 692 Melrose Ave.), you can see Yankee Stadium III. Now follow the road over Macombs Dam Bridge and you'll be on 155th Street. You'll see a subway stop 155th St [B,D]. That housing complex to the left was where the Polo Grounds was. How lucky NYC baseball fans were from 1949 - 1958, when at least 1/2 of the World Series was played in NYC.

It's a long season and anything can happen, so here's to a Cubs - Red Sox World Series being snowed out.

Subscribed because I now don't have to take responsibility to pay attention at ball games.

If the Baseball Gods would grant me a favor (since I will not be receiving many favors from them for the next several years), I am asking that the one feed listed for the LA-SD game tomorrow on the MLB Extra Innings free preview be the Los Angeles feed, and not the San Diego feed. Thank you for your consideration.

I was out of the loop. I thought only the Mets and Royals were playing today. And the Tigers aren't playing until Tuesday.

What prompted the change of the traditional Opening Day schedules?

they don't do both? thought as long as a feed was going on tv that was an option.

(yes, i see both are on directv for 7p tomorrow night)

TWC's schedule only has one feed listed for that game.

Re: 2016 MLB Season - Curses, foiled again?

Well, tonight we got to see game 6 of the World Series. Other than a Familia meltdown it had everything from the last October classic, right down to KC's relentless pressure and the Mets cracking under it.

I'm not even mad; I'm kind of amazed that after 5 months both teams could show up and play the exact same game again.

Raleigh, NC is blacked out from Orioles (308 miles away!) games because MLB is stupid.

Atlanta is 408 miles, I wonder if that is also blacked out.

Don't move to Iowa then... Up to 12 teams are blacked out for them...

I think on the MLB packages you can subscribe to get the home team(s). Costs a bit extra...

It's $10, but not available yet.

The agreement also lifts in-market blackouts for users subscribing to a particular team's broadcasts. The feature, called “Follow your Team,” will cost $10 more per season and requires MLB to offer the feature by the All-Star break. For instance, if you reside in St. Louis and subscribe to a single-team package involving the Pittsburgh Pirates, you may now stream Pirates games in St. Louis without the telecast subject to local blackout.

Users, however, still must be subscribers to their local regional sports network to view streams from in-market games.

He sounds exactly like he did 30 years ago. It's like time stood still.
