2016/2016 Lowell Thread: Hoping for Chicago

Watching the highlights, it was good to see Campbell make some moves and create the chance for Kamrass on the third goal. CC defense seems to be less than a strength looking at the results of their first three games. I also would like to see Hernberg create a nice groove of his pads on the bench. One goal he let in looked to be the result of a bad rebound, and the defense surely didn't help him out to the best of their ability on another one, but I think Wall, from the 5 periods we've seen so far, gives Lowell the best chance to win.

Metcalfe didn't make the trip, nor has he dressed for any of the games, including the exhibition game. Is he dealing with an injury, or could he potentially redshirt this season, seeing there are 4 goalies on the roster?

He also missed the Ducks prospect camp, so maybe he is injured or recoving from an injury.

Lowell up 2-0 over Colorado College at end of first.

Two goals from C.J. Smith, both on the power play Lowell's power play ranks first in country, clicking at 47% (9 of 19).

Wall looking very good in net, 10 saves in first.

3-0 Lowell at 14:27 of the second period. Goal by Zink (second of season) with assists by Wilson and Campbell)

4-0 Lowell at 16:45 of the second. Goal by Goransson (third of season), assists from Gambardella and Edwardh. Really liking this Goransson kid, Christian Folin-esque.

Final score 4-0 Lowell with the weekend sweep of CC. Tyler Wall with his first career shutout.

Goransson confuses me... limited viewing and limited paying attention... seems to make some defensive mistakes but has an offensive punch... it'll be interesting to see how this team comes together but I don't have my "finger" on it yet, as such.

Solid win as the team played much better in their own zone. Wall came up big when he had too.

Where's Gage Hough? Is he hurt?

Freshman do stuff like that

Maybe. Townsend played forward again tonight.
Wasn't he supposed to be a forward at one point and ended up on D because of numbers somewhere else? (I could be way off the mark)

It's been an ugly start to the year for Hockey East's OOC schedule. Lowell needs two more Ws next week at home, and then keep it rolling when they go to corn city in two weeks.

Great to get any sweep, and even better to be there to see it. Great job by the Alumni department with some of the events they put together out there, and a really cool moment to get the chance to speak with the Chancellor. She seems an amazing woman.

Tough matchup coming on Friday with a SLU squad that won their two games against HE competition 10-3 this weekend. Some similarities in their start with ours so far, as they have 18 goals already this season (in 4 games), while giving up 10. We're at 17-10.

Interesting to note the differences on a Friday night and a Saturday night so far. Both nights have the same record, but GF-GA are 12-9 on Friday and 5-1 on Saturday. It's early, so I'm not sure it tells us anything except that the staff is doing a good job of fixing issues after night 1.

Once Wall starts on a Friday if that trend continues it'll definitely be interesting
