2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

BC and Harvard are scoreless near the midway point of the first. The game is being broadcast on ESPN3 if you want to watch it

BC goal on a rebound off a rush by Capizzano. Grieves bangs home the rebound, though it could have been Miano.

1-0 BC after one period. Shots are 17-9 BC. Eagles couldn't convert on a power play, and Harvard starts the second on one. Watching this game, I don't understand some of Harvard's losses.

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Fun first period. Lots of intense puck battles. Harvard came out ready to play but I've been happy with the chances BC's created.

Shots 17-11 according to colleghockeystats.net, but point is BC is on pace for 51 shots despite Harvard really playing well imo.

Will be interested to see if Harvard can keep up the intensity they came out of the gate with.

BC up 2-0 after two periods now. Late goal on a backhand by Grieves, her second goal of the game. Harvard starts the third on a power play.

QU kicked the everloving crap out of BU, 6-1. That's impressive.

Skimmed through the game "on demand" last night - meaning I saw 60 minutes in about 10 mins. Was really curious about what happened. It started fairly evenly but at end of 1st period BU just started to cave in and it went downhill for the rest of the game. I think it had a lot to do with BU discipline breakdowns in the D zone. Had to be frustrating for Durcher because he doesn't teach it the way they played it. Looks like Quinny has scoring potential on every line and good D discipline. This is not a high-powered offense but looks well coached. If you breakdown against them, they will make you pay. I think that's the formula for their success. Disciplined teams will keep it tight against them... lose that discipline, and they'll go off on you.

Clarkson and Cornell tied 1-1 late in the first. SLU up on Colgate 1-0 after 1. RPI up 2-0 on Brown after one. Union leads Yale 1-0 after one.

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Bemidji State has a 3-2 lead on Minnesota-Duluth with about 9 minutes to go in the 3rd.

Penn State beats Robert Morris 3-2 in OT.

Even as far in from the coast as Penn State is, the roads are pretty crappy, so drive safely if you're at a game out east and have to hit the road.

I think that just went final. UMD had pulled the goalie plus live stats indicated a late PP for the Bulldogs. Mowat denied UMD. Sounded like the Beavers were doing their typical shot blocking as well.

Echo the thought for those out East to keep safe with the dangers of the snow storm.

ECAC game of the week today at 3 PM. Clarkson at Colgate.

Both coming off ties yesterday (vs Cornell and St Lawrence, respectively) and both tied at #3 in the ECAC standings. Would be fitting if the game ended in a tie.

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Sowchuk scores for UW on a no angle shot from the goal line. Must have deflected off SAB's skates.

UW kills a 2 minute 5 on 3 although they were helped by UND defense killing time by passing back and forth to each other.

1-0 UW after one period.
SOG 10-8 for UND

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

SCSU...Even with a penalty shot wasn't able score on Minnesota. They are just cursed.

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Penn State and Robert Morris go to overtime again today, and end up in a 2-2 tie. You're welcome, Syracuse.

Clarkson comes back from a 2-0 hole and wins the game 3-2. PHEW. Bad tie against Cornell yesterday. Knights are just having trouble finishing. Same issue today. Had 2 breakaways in the last 10 min of period 3 and could not score.

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

UW 1 Sue 0. Very even game, in fact I'd say the Sue had the better of the chances. ARD was en feugo.

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

1-0 Wisconsin over UND after 2.

Sarah Nurse beats three UND defenders and then beats SAB with a minute and a half to go in the second. Great play by Nurse. She leads UW in goals and she is a very dangerous player.

UND was outplaying UW for the first half of the second. UND was applying pressure, their d was pinching, and they were really fighting to score but could not. Johnson called time out half way through the period and things calmed down somewhat for Wisconsin. Good game.
