On the bright side for her if Maine plays Brown at least she will be on the winning side of the ice. Even if she isn't in the academic aspect.

Geez I mean it should be pretty obvious. Maine gives you a better education than Brown. I could cite any number of independent sources which would all be more reputable than yours.

Newsflash....there are many, many different ways to 'judge' the quality of a university...not merely the quality of the students it admits [e.g. facilities, endowment, professors, food, campus, city, course offerings, yadda, yadddda]. In probably every category [other than maybe Animal Husbandry] Brown has UMO beat by a country mile.

Looks like Brown just eked out a win over Maine. Might have been that gap in Acceptance Rate (9.2% for Brown vs 83.4% for Maine) that gave Brown the come-from-behind victory. I'd be interested in better understanding TTT's independent sources that saw it otherwise. Care to share?

Please I can cherry pick stats too, except I don't have to. It should be pretty obvious that I'm trolling the hell out of you guys and no one seems to realize it.

And exactly what does the admission rate have to do with the quality of the education post-admission? This is one of the criteria (and there several) in which USN&WR is measuring the quality of the inputs rather than the amount of actual education provided.

Unless you believe that the quality of the people around you have no influence on the quality of your experience in college, then nothing. I happen to think that this matters. I'm not trying to cherry pick stats, but the argument that Maine is a better school than Brown needs a bit more substantiation than a statement that there are "independent sources" who see it that way that are "more reputable" than every ranking source that most of us have ever seen. Care to advance the discussion?

ok ralphie-boy...Let's take the entire thread out of context and pose another dopey question....Do the Rangers/Bruins/Canadiens, etc. take credit for 'development' too? Of course they do [and probably say the college coach didn't know #$#@ and they had to "teach" the rookie as if he had no clue how to play]. But of course that wasn't the point being made, now was it?:eek:
