IF indeed you have a "passion" for {quality} hockey
THEN you would know that there is a powerful correlation between Wins and non-US players.
ELSE you should change your moniker to EducPassion

Out of state students pay a tuition which is closer to the actual cost of their education. In-state students get what amounts to a subsidy from the taxpayers

You may believe what you wish ... this is after all ... America, and I have been known to be occasionally wrong. However, a few years back, I ran a correlation coefficient between the % of the teams' wins of a couple of conferences, and the % of non-US players on their roster. It was in the 0.9+ range which is indicative of a fairly strong correlation.

As US amateur hockey improves, that correlation will decline, but historically has been quite strong.

This probably happens because they use those stupid scoreboards at games.

The education and opportunity is there, just at a Club level.

Rutledge was a mess at Michigan. He went back to juniors, and from what I understand, doesn't exactly stay in one place at a time for very long.

Back in 2011 Rutledge was in goal when the US Under 18 team played against Plattsburgh, he got the shutout but with guys like Jacob Trouba (NHL), Seth Jones (NHL), Patrick Sieloff (AHL), Connor Carrick (AHL), Brady Skjei (AHL), Matt Grzelcyk (Boston University) and Gavin Stoick (Cornell) it makes life a little easier.
