2014 Women's D-1 National Tournament

Re: 2014 Women's D-1 National Tournament

Unbelieveable, Mercyhurst 3 Cornell 2 final.. I can hear the EZAC chants.

Actually, I am not surprised by this result. I watched Mercyhurst play Clarkson early in the season and I thought that they were the best team that Clarkson played all year. Their speed gave Clarkson all sorts of issues. Congrats to them. They deserve to be going to Hamden next week.

I thought the difference in the game was goaltending. Slebodnick just did not step up this weekend the way she did in the Clarkson game, and inconsistency was at the position has been Cornell's weakness all season. Of course, penalties don't help.

Also, the Mercyhurst keeper made a nice save on a shorthanded breakaway back in the first period. If Cornell goes up 2-0 at that point, who knows?
