Re: 2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

I thought the NYR #1 farm club was Providence (Reds).
My comment was accurate, as far as it went.

But what I didn't realize (before looking it up) was that the St. Paul Rangers only had a three year run, ending in 1966. They were one of the founding members of the Central League, starting in 1963. I was under the impression that both the league and the team went back further than that, but it turns out that's not the case.

There still could be a connection between State of Hockey's Dad and the Central League Rangers. But it's less likely to be the key factor on his NYR loyalty, with only three relevant seasons.

NMU's head coach Walt Kyle grew up in Waterloo, Iowa as a big Rangers fan. Said the AM station they broadcast on growing up carried that far during the winter.

The Rangers split the pair they played against the Kings this year (with the win coming during the stretch early in the year when the Rangers were getting steamrolled by everyone before they figured out AV's system, and the loss a 1-0 shutout by a goalie who's no longer with the Kings, in which the Rangers outshot the Kings). They beat the Hawks both times they played during the regular season. I agree that they're underdogs nonetheless, but I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility that it will be a competitive series.

I was just messin. It's hockey. Anything can - and often does - happen.

Here at the Red Sox-Tampa Bay game. Benches cleared. Man. Hockey fights>>>>>>baseball fights.

If the Hawks can take this lead well into the third, you have to think they will be getting some odd man rushes. The first 5 minutes will be big. On 670 (SCORE) today the boys kept talking like this game was for the Cup.

Well, it basically is for the Cup... Without a win tonight, there is no tomorrow :o

If Kruger doesn't break his stick there, we're tied again.
