But what I didn't realize (before looking it up) was that the St. Paul Rangers only had a three year run, ending in 1966. They were one of the founding members of the Central League, starting in 1963. I was under the impression that both the league and the team went back further than that, but it turns out that's not the case.
There still could be a connection between State of Hockey's Dad and the Central League Rangers. But it's less likely to be the key factor on his NYR loyalty, with only three relevant seasons.
