Yeah, the more I think about it, the less I want anything nice for those people.t

And should they win a Cup, of course we'll have to hear how hockey is Canada's game. The media always makes such a big deal out of the last Canadian team standing as if they're the national team. Wouldn't bother me if a Canadian based team never wins again.
And of course it would kill them if the hero is a European, like Plekanec or an :eek:American, like their captain Brian Gionta or their most skilled player Max Pacioretty.

This is getting cocky, but I wouldn't mind Montreal making it to the Finals just to implode... The resulting angst would be great to sit back and watch...

(Although I will admit that karma would be going against the Hawks in this scenario... My dad, uncle, and grandfather all got to witness Montreal skating around the Chicago Stadium with the cup... TWICE... This fact has me hesitant to even try and get tickets to any Cup games... There is some serious bad ju-ju that has to be overcome in this scenario... I'm not even considering the fact that I'm probably looking at $150-175/ticket for SRO :p)

Re: 2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

i love how someone actually asked therien if he thought kreider colliding with price (after being slashed) was intentional. that's what you get with montreal. nothing can ever be as it seems...always has to be more. thankfully therien said it was accidental.
Price didn't practice this morning.

Carey Price tested a suspected knee injury briefly ahead of an optional practice on Sunday, but his fitness for Game 2 of the NHL Eastern Conference final remains in doubt.

Price went on the ice with goaltending coach Stephane Waite for about five minutes, mostly moving side to side in the crease. Then they left the ice.

And of course it would kill them if the hero is a European, like Plekanec or an :eek:American, like their captain Brian Gionta or their most skilled player Max Pacioretty.

IIRC, there's more Canadian players on the Rangers than on the Habs.

oh i'm not doubting he got banged up on the play but thinking it was intentional? come on

Re: 2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

exactly. i mean you can clearly see his skates go haywire after he took the slash

Re: 2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

that was a good call IMO. nothing against toews, he did exactly what he should do but he wasn't pushed ans he skated into quick who was in the crease. no need to call a penalty, just review and get it right.

Re: 2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

goals shouls never be allowed in situations like that even if contact was accidental...it still happened and impacted quick's ability to keep puck out

Well, using a previous example from the MN-CO series...it was not a good call. Or, the MN-CO goal was a bad call. Take your pick. One of them is wrong.

Re: 2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

Didn't have a problem with the disallowed goal. Was actually surprised that it wasn't immediately disallowed.

My only question was whether they could review it or not. Still not clear, but whatever.

Looked like a no-goal to me.

Good win if not very spectacular.

gurt, they absolutely did a horrible job explaining things on that call even after allegedly getting clarification. the explanation didn't make any sense.

They could not review the goaltender interference. What they reviewed (according to the NHL) was whether or not it was Toews' initial shot (before the interference) that went in.

I think the St. Louis/mom angle has been played out.

Media - please stop.

Not that they will.
