Looks like Carcillo in for Brassard. He'll probably be busy fighting the Habs goon squad tonight.

Tokarski to start...:p

I've got a bad feeling for three reasons.

1) The Rangers make backups look like Sawchuk as I've said.
2) Make things harder than they should
3) It's Victoria Day.

I fully expect this series to be tied at 1 at the end of the night.

When the Habs lose tonight, will the biggest complaint be the officials or the fact Kreider was pushed into Price?

Monumentally stupid penalty by Pouliot. Lucky he didn't get 5.

Re: 2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

looked like they got it right with the 2 instead of 5 but ya not sure why pouliot even hit him

But remember, he'll be Minnesota's problem next year. ;)

I was on the Vanek bandwagon for a while, but I have come around to the thinking that the Wild shouldn't spend money on him. Save that cap space to resign Granlund, Coyle, Haula, Brodin, Fontaine, Stoner, Kuemper and Niederreider.

That is what they should do, but does management agree? A cursory glance at playoff stats says you'd be foolish not to save money for whichever of the young guns in that list pan out in another year or two.

I didn't want the Wild to get Vanek but now I'm kind of hoping they do as it will cripple their ability to do just what you guys are talking about. I don't say this with any malice, just looking at it from a you're in our division and a possible future threat angle.

The Hawks have built their model on identifying the "core" and locking it up and then developing their own talent to surround the core with. There are certainly times when Hawks fan (including myself) cry out for them to bring in an impact veteran, but they have stayed the course and it's obviously working out.

Turns out that maybe Hawks management knows what they're doing maybe just a little more than I do.

The only way I want the wild to sign Vanek is if its for 2 years, and I don't see that happening.

The Canucks apparently will introduce Jim Benning as the new GM on Friday

TSN first reported Tuesday that Benning would be chosen by the Canucks for the post, and reported Wednesday that a deal has been reached and a press conference will be held Friday.

There has been no word from the Canucks camp, and it's important to point out that several hockey pundits had both Ray Shero and Dan Byslma being fired by the Pittsburgh Penguins. As it turned out, Bylsma was given a reprieve, at least until Pittsburgh's new general manager meets with the coach.

I guess we finally know who came out on top on the old God/Vanek debate.
