Re: 2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

I've been a Cubs fan since I was a little kid and my mom brought me home a hat from one of her work trips. I used to also be a Red Sox fan the first little league team I played for were the Red Sox. I stopped being a Red Sox fan after they won the World Series. Everyone was a Sox fan after that. Made me effing sick. I'm still a Cubs fan though :( .

I actually have a friend who back in the 2000s was a self-identified fan of: The Yankees, the Packers, Boston College, Celtics, Red Wings, and I can't remember the rest, but you get the gist of it. God I hated that.

Stick with em, the payoff will be so worth the pain.

I'm still waiting on my Brewers...

Hmm...my dad was born 14 years after the Cubs last won a World Series, and he died 22 years ago not ever having seen the Cubs win a World Series during his lifetime, and they still have not won one since.

You assume that eventually there will be a "payoff", eh?

In a word...

Yes.

Hell, even the Vikings will probably get one someday.

Best tweet I saw today:
"If bringing the Stanley Cup back to Canada means Montreal has to win it, I think I'll pass and take our chances next year"

As for the Vikings...no team in the big 4 leagues has existed longer and never won a title than the Minnesota Vikings.

And if you look at franchise records, the only teams that are up there with best winning percent are teams that have won it many times.

I had an RA in college who was a fan of Notre Dame, the Celtics, the Cowboys, the Yankees... and the Hartford Whalers. Best RA I ever had.

Oh yeah, he was also a fan to SCSU hockey and Notre Dame football. I forgot about those two.

The SCSU thing always baffled me.

Meanwhile, Rick Nash couldn't find the ocean if he were standing on the beach.

As I said on Twitter, Nash couldn't score in a women's prison with a briefcase full of pardons. Forget buying out Richards, buy out Nash. Use the money to keep Zucs-Brassard-Pouliot together.

Richards contract has to go simply because of the length. Nash's contract is two years shorter and while he's a pile of crap at least he'll stink for less time. Richards would stink up the Garden until 2020! Maybe, just maybe, Sather can find a trade partner for Nash (he does have some value, maybe, right?) and then convince him to go. That would be awesome! :D

I agree about keeping Zucs around. Brassard is your typical player that is only going to produce in a contract year. I'd let him walk as either Fast or Miller could take that spot. For the right price I'd bring back Pouliot. Some space should be free by getting rid of Boyle and if a sucker could be found for Dorsett.

Plus I would love to see Dom Moore return. He was the only player to give a **** last night. His play has been stellar this season.

The Vikings have an NFL title. If that doesn't count than Arizona, Tennessee, San Diego, Buffalo, Philadelphia and Detroit have them beat.

When the Vikings won an NFL title, it wasn't the pinnacle of their league. There was a Super Bowl at the time.

You are failing to take into account the Minnesota sports teams rule, "If we want to call it a title and raise a banner to it, then it's a title, regardless of what anyone else says."
