did i mention i hate corey perry?
Well, I'm more confident in a match up against Colorado now than I was with 2 weeks to go in the regular season... So that's a plus... Also would love sending Roy into a nuclear meltdown... That would be some great LULz...
and what to do with miller? FA but i believe they gave up a lot for him
Chris Stewart, William Carrier (prospect), and two picks (one being conditional)? They didn't give up anything, considering the initial trade was rumored to have included the hot rookie prospect Ty Rattie.and what to do with miller? FA but i believe they gave up a lot for him
Halak went to Buffalo with Chris Stewart for Ott and Miller. Buffalo flipped Halak to Washington.I was surprised that they felt they needed him in the first place. They were doing just fine with Elliott and Halak (granted, I'm biased when it comes to Elliott, but I challenge anyone to tell me that Miller wound up being an improvement).
Maybe this depends on what Washington gave them for Halak compared to what they gave up for Miller.
DAL: Seguin
ANA: Bonino
Wouldn't mind Daley or Smith-Pelly get it to complete the hat trick though....
I was at the Met Center for a Stars/Blackhawks game in 90 or 91, early March. I don't know if people remember the layout of that arena or not, but the upper and lower levels were split much the same way as the NHC in St. Cloud is, where people in the upper deck and reach down and touch the people walking around the walkway for the lower deck. Well, two or three Stars fans took note of that too, reached down and picked up a guy in a Blackhawks sweater. And then the fight began. That rivalry was easily more intense than any other I've seen in this state - and the Stars sucked! After reading Facebook, I still can't believe there are Minnesotans who cheer for Chicago. I'm not old enough to really remember the Stars-Hawks rivalry and I hate them.

Watching Oshie and Toews playing on the same ice, it's hard to imagine those two and the hobey baker winner all on the same college line.
So weird that the Hobey winner wasn't even the best...or second best...player on his line.
And Bonino with the game winner. Dallas had a couple good chances in the OT and couldn't bury it.
Worst collapse -- Leafs in Boston last year or Dallas at home last night?
Lucky sure, but they earned it. That was the 1 vs. 8 match up, was it not? They're equally bad. On one hand, Leafs shat the bed late in a Game 7. On the other hand, Anaheim's a very beatable team with questionable goaltending lucky to draw the young Stars in the first round.
That's cool. Leave it to Toronto to spoil the pattern. It's a longshot but...
In the first round of this year's playoffs the Boston Bruins beat the Detroit Red Wings. Boston will now face the Montreal Canadiens, Les Habs having dismissed the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Assuming Boston dispatches Montreal it's possible the Bruins could meet the New York Rangers in the conference finals.
Taking one more step out on a proverbial limb it's possible the Bruins could then meet the Chicago Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup finals. The possibility exists that the Boston Bruins could win the Stanley Cup this season by defeating each of the other Original Six teams which did make the playoffs: Detroit, Montreal, New York and Chicago. Again it's a longshot, but if it happens it would be an Original Six Stanley Cup of sorts.
Interesting.It's a longshot but...
