did i mention i hate corey perry?

Hate the fcker...but I would still take him on the Wings, he's a pest that can actually score. Believe it or not, he's earned considerably fewer penalties this year, perhaps he's toning down the d0uche factor a little (but probably not).

I want the Sucks to lose though, so go Dallas.

Re: 2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

Well, I'm more confident in a match up against Colorado now than I was with 2 weeks to go in the regular season... So that's a plus... Also would love sending Roy into a nuclear meltdown... That would be some great LULz...

Maybe he'd throw a door at his wife.

As a Dallas fan I do not like Anaheim. As a UAA fan I am rather neutral towards them.

Re: 2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

and what to do with miller? FA but i believe they gave up a lot for him

I was surprised that they felt they needed him in the first place. They were doing just fine with Elliott and Halak (granted, I'm biased when it comes to Elliott, but I challenge anyone to tell me that Miller wound up being an improvement).

Maybe this depends on what Washington gave them for Halak compared to what they gave up for Miller.

Chris Stewart, William Carrier (prospect), and two picks (one being conditional)? They didn't give up anything, considering the initial trade was rumored to have included the hot rookie prospect Ty Rattie.

They need to figure out what to do with their goaltending, as Jake Allen has been on the "Detroit Red Wings Seasoning" plan for the Blues, spending much longer than needed in the AHL. Both Miller and Elliott are UFA's, with Jake Allen having one more year under contract. I really see them letting Miller walk, resigning Elliott, and promoting Jake to the big club for next fall. Unless.... they can get an immediate impact roster player for one of those three.

I don't see them wanting to re-sign Ott, Roy, or Morrow, especially with some of the upcoming kids developing.

Halak went to Buffalo with Chris Stewart for Ott and Miller. Buffalo flipped Halak to Washington.

DAL: Seguin
ANA: Bonino

Wouldn't mind Daley or Smith-Pelly get it to complete the hat trick though....

After reading Facebook, I still can't believe there are Minnesotans who cheer for Chicago. I'm not old enough to really remember the Stars-Hawks rivalry and I hate them.
I was at the Met Center for a Stars/Blackhawks game in 90 or 91, early March. I don't know if people remember the layout of that arena or not, but the upper and lower levels were split much the same way as the NHC in St. Cloud is, where people in the upper deck and reach down and touch the people walking around the walkway for the lower deck. Well, two or three Stars fans took note of that too, reached down and picked up a guy in a Blackhawks sweater. And then the fight began. That rivalry was easily more intense than any other I've seen in this state - and the Stars sucked!

Always tried to go to those games as a teen. Yes, my buddies and I gave just as much crap as the adults. Thankfully, the 'Hawks fans next to us knew it was just the rivalry talking and nothing bad happened. But in other areas, sh* went down, man. That was THE rivalry.

Watching Oshie and Toews playing on the same ice, it's hard to imagine those two and the hobey baker winner all on the same college line.

So weird that the Hobey winner wasn't even the best...or second best...player on his line.

Worst collapse -- Leafs in Boston last year or Dallas at home last night?

They're equally bad. On one hand, Leafs shat the bed late in a Game 7. On the other hand, Anaheim's a very beatable team with questionable goaltending lucky to draw the young Stars in the first round.

Lucky sure, but they earned it. That was the 1 vs. 8 match up, was it not?

Re: 2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

A couple of Wolves friend said this of the Stars: When a frenchy is your team enforcer (Rousell), you're in trouble.

Felt bad for the former Wolves guys: Lehtinen, Rousell, Garbutt, and Connauton.

Garbutt is an amazing story too, Wolves signed him to an AHL deal after he played in the CHL and ECHL, and is now getting regular NHL minutes with Dallas.

It's a longshot but...

In the first round of this year's playoffs the Boston Bruins beat the Detroit Red Wings. Boston will now face the Montreal Canadiens, Les Habs having dismissed the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Assuming Boston dispatches Montreal it's possible the Bruins could meet the New York Rangers in the conference finals.

Taking one more step out on a proverbial limb it's possible the Bruins could then meet the Chicago Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup finals. The possibility exists that the Boston Bruins could win the Stanley Cup this season by defeating each of the other Original Six teams which did make the playoffs: Detroit, Montreal, New York and Chicago. Again it's a longshot, but if it happens it would be an Original Six Stanley Cup of sorts.

That's cool. Leave it to Toronto to spoil the pattern.
