Re: 2014-2015 Minnesota Women's Hockey: The Maroon & Gold Strike Back!

I would really like to watch the SLU game but don't want to pay $10 for it. If anyone going to the game has a BTN2go login they'd be willing to share I wouldn't turn it down...

:)
And you'll reciprocate with what? Free access to BC home games?

Sorry I can't help you out. I saw BTN2go once & decided I wouldn't pay for that. I can highly recommend the audio stream though. Dan is one of the best, really way too good to be consigned to online only.

I'll give free access to all BC home games AND free video streaming for all BC home games too :D

EDIT: I'll also GIF any nice goals for you

I agree; Dan will do a good job of letting you know what is happening. I also agree that the quality of the video from UM isn't great. I let my subscription expire over the break, so I can't help you, TTT. But anybody who can afford Disney's prices can afford $10 for a hockey game if they really want to see it. Otherwise, wait and find a way to watch the BTN televised broadcast versus UW next week.

I mean it's not that I can't afford it, I merely dont feel like it's worth paying $10 for a game I only marginally would like to watch lol

I am definitely looking forward to the UW game.

You can pay your $10 today and you can get both SLU games and the UW games next weekend.

That's the only thing that makes this somewhat worth it, although I would get one of the UW games anyway.

For another $5, you could get the whole Big Ten and you could watch Wisconsin host both Bemidji State and Clarkson. The games are archived so you could watch them after the fact at your convenience.

Nah I mostly care about Minnesota because they are the only ones who can catch us even if we go undefeated. That's why these SLU games are so big, and Wisconsin obviously.

Holy crap, a touchdown and field goal? Has this St Lawrence team won a game this year?

I noticed that a regular poster brought his mom and dad to the game tonight.

I think it was more a case of the Gophers being very very hungry, period one was typical Gopher hockey, very disciplined in all 3 zones, in periods 2 & 3 they looked like a pack of wolves that hadn't eaten in a couple weeks.

C'mon Minnesotans, it wasn't that cold Sunday afternoon, I bet many of you went out shopping, too bad you missed one of the most unique games of the year (apparently while Johnson is away, the mice will play). Since I was so concerned about dressing warm I forgot to bring a hat in case of a hat trick. I wasn't about to throw the one I had with the temp what it was and wind howling. But I guess even if I had remembered it, I'd still have been a hat short.

Re: 2014-2015 Minnesota Women's Hockey: The Maroon & Gold Strike Back!

Remember when a lot of people were worried that no one but Brandt and Cameranesi was scoring?

Final 5-1 MN over SLU. The Gophers looked like they were the ones that had played 3 games in 4 days. SLU picked their speed up a bit but MN looks . . . disinterested. Passes were slow & sloppy. despite something like 30-14 SOG at the end of 2 MN was only up 2-0. The Saint scored early in the 3rd and MN answered with 2 quick scores. the 5th was an empty netter.
They should be rested for Wisconsin.

When you win the first game of a series 10-0 it's only natural that you take your opponent for granted in the rematch. Not making excuses for their subpar play but I do think that at least partly explains why the Gophers were not nearly as sharp as they were in Game 1. But just as important, St. Lawrence really stepped up their game tonight, and they deserve a lot of credit for forcing the Gophers into making mistakes. Until the latter stages of the 3rd period, they were much quicker all over the ice, and did not turn the puck over nearly as much. Plus, the goaltending was way better; Miss Wolejko came up with many great saves on some point-blank chances, opportunities the Gophers were able to convert on Sunday. At the other end Amanda Leveille was also called upon to make several key saves when the Gophers were clinging to a 2-1 lead in the 3rd period, with the game still in doubt. Good teams will sometimes need great goaltending when they otherwise have an off-night, and for certain stretches of tonight's game that was the case here.

It was good to see the Gophers begin to re-establish control in the 2nd and continue their better play into the 3rd period, when they began to more closely resemble the kind of dominating team we saw on Sunday. With a huge WCHA series coming up this weekend they will need to be at the utmost very best to beat a much better foe in Wisconsin.
