Five minute penalty and game misconduct assessed to OSU's McKinnon for hitting Nurse into boards. OSU kills off 5 minute penalty.

2-0 UW leads OSU after 2 periods.

Wisconsin dominating in all aspects of the game. Aggresive forecheck, tough on the puck and close the front of the net defensively. They are very good.

Four games, and Providence has yet to score. At this point Merrimack has a better RPI than the Friars.

They did score one goal in exhibition versus Montreal but your observation is correct.

Friars appear to be going through a change phase and this is a pivotal season for the program.

The loss of Buie's scoring and other graduations then the transfer of Molly Illikainen and Lexi Slattery to St. Cloud (they are both figuring large in scoring and playing time at St Cloud now Illkainen is leading scorer with 2 G 2 A and Slattery is fourth in scoring with a 1 G and 2 A) has changed the Team. The current Team may not have many high end pure scorers but can compete if they move the puck and play as attacking units of 5. Trouble is when you are trying/struggling to score many players try to fix the problem versus work as a unit - this has been a past problem.

Seniors Frade, Hanrahan, Micheletti, Simpson, juniors Kukowski, Thunstrum and sophomore Carels have all logged significant playing time and need to get on the Board and have the skills to. I don't know much about the freshman class or impact they can have? On the Blue Line Romanchuk, Halvorson, Virtue, Goodrich all have good shots.

I give coaches credit in playing a couple of goalies early.

Time will tell.

Oddly looking at the newly designed PC website it no longer lists stats as it did in the past years?

That's a great site. Wish there was a way to get it to display beyond the first 100 results. It'd also be nice to get direct read access to that database: it's not a Hockey East thing, the exact same data (in the exact format) is also available through WCHA.

A second ECAC vs Hockey East matchup when the other way, as Quinnipiac beat Maine, 4-0.
