North Dakota released its schedule yesterday. http://www.undsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=13500&ATCLID=209508375

Non-conference opponents include a weekend home series with Vermont and RPI, a road trip to RIT and a home series against Syracuse.
One of those schedules that is probably harder than it looks at first glance. Vermont finished in the top half of Hockey East in both the season and playoffs; although Grant has a good point, as it is still Hockey East. RIT is the reigning CHA champ. RPI is the weakest on paper, but I think the Engineers underachieved a bit last year, so they could bounce back. And the Syracuse comment has already been made.

Re: 2014-2015 D1 schedules thread

Had to smile at the following quote from the article:

The University of North Dakota said:
UND heads east for games against Minnesota-Duluth January 30-31...
For decades we've heard our friends from New England grouse that cities like Buffalo and Pittsburgh are "out west" and that they can't possibly be expected to take on such burdensome travel. Finally, we have a response. As a port city on Lake Superior, Duluth must be seen as an East Coast city. So there you have it: WCHA teams travel to the East on a regular basis, even in conference play. :)

Talking about east from North Dakota is like talking south from the North Pole, at least in the context of women's collegiate hockey.

Correct. As the westernmost team in Women's D-1, they "head east" on every single road trip. Hence the silliness of the phrasing. At the same time, this is hardly the linguistic crime of the century; just some slightly sloppy drafting that was worth a small smile...;)

What is posted now:
Sat Dec 6 - @ Syracuse
Sat Jan 23 - vs Syracuse

Re: 2014-2015 D1 schedules thread

This schedule raised some questions for me.
One, it lists two weekends as TBD. Since all their conference games are listed, one would assume that they intend to play OOC one of those weekends. However, they also have six OOC games scheduled if one counts the two OOC games down at Ridder. Do those east/west mini-tournaments at the beginning of the season count against the schedule? (Used to be that some OOC games on the men's side didn't count against the schedule in certain circumstances.)

Two, they have a home and home series with Mankato early in the season but the games at the end of January/early Feb have Monday dates (and are otherwise TBD). Anyone know if there are outdoor games scheduled at one of the schools?

Re: 2014-2015 D1 schedules thread

There is another possible game for St. Cloud that is being discussed that would not count against their limit.
