Re: 2014-2015 College Football Thread: A New Era Begins..

Just looking ahead to the first Playoff Committee rankings on Oct 28. It looks like LSU is the only team that might be able to prevent a very, very easy introduction for the committee. Of the 5 remaining undefeated teams, here are their remaining games before Oct 28:

Mississippi State: bye, Kentucky (yes, they're 5-1, but clearly a step below MSU)
FSU: Notre Dame (someone has to lose), bye
Ole Miss: Tennessee, LSU
Baylor: WVU, bye
Notre Dame: FSU (someone has to lose), bye

Check out all those byes. The FSU/Notre Dame game doesn't matter, since someone has to lose. For there to be 4 undefeated left by Oct 28, Ole Miss just has to beat Tennessee (call it 95%) and LSU (67%), Baylor beats WVU (80%), and Mississippi State beats UK (80%). That gives the committee right at a 40% chance of having exactly 4 undefeated teams to slot into the 4 playoff spots, which would give them a nice, non-controversial introduction.

love bill snyder...turned a nothing program into something pretty darn good and then out of retirement doing what he's doing. guy is amazing.

Yeah, about that Baylor-WVU game....

Over 325 yards in penalties in that game. Baylor with 17 for over 200 so far by themselves.

Welp, so much for that. You're welcome, WVU, and good luck to the committee! Hope they issued some fire-proof suits.

Re: 2014-2015 College Football Thread: A New Era Begins..

This was going to be a mess in a couple weeks anyway, because Ole Miss and Miss St. have yet to deal with each other.

Boys, I don't think I'd write off Alabama quite yet, either.

Re: 2014-2015 College Football Thread: A New Era Begins..

45-0. In the first half. 449 yards. In the first half.

They might as well be playing Our Lady Of Perpetual Sweat School For The Repentant. Actually, that school might put up a better fight.

Re: 2014-2015 College Football Thread: A New Era Begins..

A&M has 50 yards offense. Compared to Bama's 45 points. Yeah, that's a recipe for success.

The end of the UCLA-Cal game is another feather in the cap of the Pac12 refs.

Re: 2014-2015 College Football Thread: A New Era Begins..

notre dame's first real road game of season...pathetic

Re: 2014-2015 College Football Thread: A New Era Begins..

Heather Cox is dumber than Erin Andrews.

I didn't think that was even possible.

Re: 2014-2015 College Football Thread: A New Era Begins..

Yeah, but Heather Cox hasn't been penetrated by Bret Bielema. So she's got that going for her.
