Re: 2014-2015 College Football Thread: A New Era Begins..

Polls for this week:

Both have a 1-5 of MS St., FSU, Ole Miss, Baylor, and ND.

Then it goes coaches: 6. MSU 7. Bama 8. Auburn
and AP: 6. Auburn 7. Alabama 8. MSU

Followed up with both having Oregon and Georgia rounding out the top ten.

Two weeks until the first committee poll.

It'll be interesting to see what happens if the Mississippi schools are still undefeated (#1 & #2) coming into rivalry week in late November... Does a loss there eliminate them from the playoff?

No, it means that we will yet again see a team that didn't win it's division, let alone it's conference, in the national title game(s).

It must be exciting for the fans of these Mississippi schools to look in the paper or online and see those schools in the top two. Too bad they don't know how to read.

Sort of like people in upstate New York who don't understand what "2" is.

Beats the hell out of watching another undeserving Notre Dame team lose by 30.

Either way, I'll probably not watch.

Ever since they went to the post New Year's game on a Monday, I've never seen the entire game that awards the glass football.

Watching bowl games during the holiday week is pretty easy, including stretching yourself to stay up late on New Year's day when Jan 2 is a work day.

But a week later? Normally between teams I don't care about? Yea- not so much.

I guess it makes it a whole lot easier to not care.

Jameis Winston is being investigated for autographs now too.

Everyone has autographs

Last year, several schools investigated potential autograph issues with Johnny Manziel, Jadeveon Clowney, Tajh Boyd, Teddy Bridgewater and Braxton Miller. Like Winston, Clowney had a high number of autographs authenticated by JSA (the authenticator in question with Winston), but the school found no evidence of wrong-doing on Clowney's part.

Signing something is fine... its the $$$ that causes the problem....

another example that Winston is a complete twit who thinks people will cover his butt... so far he's right.

Other than doing something criminal, I don't care about NCAA infractions.

If a kid did get money for autographs, good for him. Doesn't make me think less of him.

He sold the autographs so he can buy some crab legs
