Re: 2014-2015 College Football Thread: A New Era Begins..

Huh. I guess it's just the hockey connection, but I view Miami as relatively interesting, as MAC opponents go. But I suppose the overwhelming factor is the disappointment of last weekend. And the hockey community just isn't big enough to overcome something like that -- even at Michigan.

As I'm often (and recently) reminded, I'm not your typical Football poster. But I do care and wouldn't revel. My choice would be for all BT teams to play in front of full stadiums all season long.

Anyhow, have a great time at the game.

Amen.

There's almost no crossover between sporting rivalries. If they were, OSU would be a far bigger game in hockey, but WRT the B1G, it's 4th. And MAC schools in state I think are more interesting. Like if you played Western Michigan vs. Kent State- I bet more are interested in KSU.

Still, I'm sure the reported numbers will be higher than 100k- the game against Deleware a few years ago was empty, and still managed 100k.

Indiana about to go down to BGSU. The entire state of Indiana needs to be removed from the conference.

Miami tied with Michigan

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

............awww, didn't last long

Re: 2014-2015 College Football Thread: A New Era Begins..

The Whoosiers come up with some B1G pass interference penalties in the final 30 seconds to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

It's no wonder the B1G wants to schedule exclusively P5 so bad. :p

Oh man. This Iowa team is special alright. Very special.

Re: 2014-2015 College Football Thread: A New Era Begins..

Iowa sucks, Greg Davis needs to get the **** out of Iowa City, the Big Ten sucks, lapdmdpskxpsmspa•\|==|'spa.

Assuming Purdont loses, the B1G will be 1-10 against power 5 conferences. Your lone win? Rutgers.

For me, Western would be equally interesting due to the hockey angle. But I realize I'm in a tiny minority.

Could be that tickets sold is > 100k. As long there's actually money in the till, it's defensible to count the no-shows.

1) 4) Please Big Ten, win today.

Well, so much for asking nicely.:o

Alright just dissolve the conference. I wanna play as an independent.
Careful what you wish for. You might wind up as an adjunct member of the ACC...

Re: 2014-2015 College Football Thread: A New Era Begins..

Don't look now, but the Boilermakers just took a 14-10 lead with 3 to play until the half.

Gah. They are an absolute sh^t team again this year but manage to play the game of the year against Notre Dame, seemingly like always.

Re: 2014-2015 College Football Thread: A New Era Begins..

B1G officials are doing the UCLA-Texas game. Wonder if they'll find a way to add to the national embarrassment.

Re: 2014-2015 College Football Thread: A New Era Begins..

I know a lot of people don't like fancy uniforms, but I thought Maryland's were cool today. The helmet had an outline of Ft. McHenry, and had some script of presumably of the Star Spangled Banner, as did the shoulders of the jersey. Since this was the 200th anniversary of the poem Francis Scott Key wrote- that's pretty cool.

Too bad that didn't turn into a win.

Re: 2014-2015 College Football Thread: A New Era Begins..

I hope she was worth it Notre Dame for you to wear these uniforms.
