2014-15 schedules

Re: 2014-15 schedules

Scuttlebutt from #26's thread is that they're playing AIC on the 10th of October. That means Union's schedule is complete, assuming my inference about the Shillelaigh is correct (which it could very well not be).

Re: 2014-15 schedules

Has anyone figured out the process by which the AHA selects which schools play each other 4 times this year and which they only play twice? From completed schedules each team has 4 opponents played 4 times and the other 6 only twice.

RIT's 4x4 are NU, RMU, Holy Cross and Sacred Heart
RMU's are NU, RIT, AIC and AFA
Army's are CC, Bentley, Mercyhurst, and AIC
Bentley's are Army, Holy Cross, Sacred Heart, Mercyhurst
Niagara's are RIT, RMU. ?, ?

Re: 2014-15 schedules

didn't atlantic hockey change up their playoff format/seedings in recent years based on geography/pods (something like that)? was that already canned?

With UConn leaving the whole setup has changed. Looks like 28 league games at 4x4 and 6x2. However it does not appear to have any East/West bias to the rationale as some teams crossover twice and some only once for their 4x4 series. Will be interesting to see if anyone crosses 3 times over the old East/West configuration for their 4x4's.

My understanding is that it was a random selection of the 4 vs. 2 game opponents for the first season with 11 teams. Going forward, it will be rotated throughout the league. Gone are the old east/west scheduling pods (which were basically divisions by another name.)

Assuming they put it out to five years, you play four games against every team twice in that period.

Re: 2014-15 schedules

Maine/BC looks to be a split series, as they do not have any weekends in common. Fair assumption that they'll play at each location, then.

The same may be said about the Princeton/Quinnipiac series. Yes 23-24 January is open, but Princeton may still be having finals that week, and ECAC teams typically take a week off for said examinations.

The Maine at Boston College game is Saturday 11/22. The home games vs BC, Lowell and UConn and the 4 remaining unknown opponents are still up in the air.

I believe the Princeton-Quinnipiac home-and-home is Dec. 27 and 28... First game in Hamden, second in Princeton.

That would complete Princeton's schedule, certainly. I'll put it in. I wonder why Quinnipiac is taking so long to release... are they back in the AHA frame of mind?

Re: 2014-15 schedules

According to a poster on the Boston College thread, BC will play Michigan for a single game. It believe it's at Boston College.

I was going crazy trying to find a missing game, but then I remembered the HOF game last year was an exemption.

Sad not to see LSSU. I always like seeing the anchor come to town.

It looks like they're really trying to ramp up this HE/B1G challenge thing.

Now that the teams have 12 and 14 NC games respectively, why not?
