2014-15 College Football Part II: SEC vs World

Re: 2014-15 College Football Part II: SEC vs World

nope, this is the first time i've seen FSU all year.

Re: 2014-15 College Football Part II: SEC vs World

Good god, we're getting our *** waxed.

Glad I wasn't home to watch it.

Well, Ohio State is ahead of Baylor, so they wouldn't have to worry about that. I don't see how they could jump TCU...especially considering that the committee apparently thinks TCU is ahead of Crim U. Well, TCU shellacked Iowa State today, and the Criminoles are in another patented close game. Of course, Georgia Tech is 10x the team that Iowa State is.

So, TCU vs. Ohio State?

TCU's Credentials:
Big 12 Co-Champion
Quality wins over Minnesota, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Kansas State, and Texas
Only loss to Baylor
Beat only common opponent (Minnesota) by 23, while Ohio State only won by 7 (but, TCU played Minnesota at home, and Ohio State played them in Minnesota)

Ohio State's Credentials:
Big Ten Champion
Quality wins over Michigan State, Minnesota, and Wisconsin
Only loss to Virginia Tech
They are on their third string QB, but that does not appear to be an issue

It's a very close call. I think TCU has an ever so slightly stronger resume, and I think they should get the #4 (#3?) spot.

As was just pointed out to me on Twitter: pick OSU and you avoid choosing between Baylor and TCU, you get a massive following in the game(s) and your TV ratings are going to be much better.

Of course, if the committee leaves both Texas teams out of the playoff, they won't make it out of Texas alive. So there are some good pros and cons in this one. :p:D:D

B10 is garbage this year. Nothing should change after this week it should be Bama/FSU and Oregon/TCU.

point priceless!

you should win your conference to make the playoffs. if you want to add 'wild cards' who don't win their conference then expand up to 8. (and if you 'tie' you didn't win)

I think OSU is better than FSU, but I highly doubt the undefeated reigning National Champions are out for an OSU team that lost to an awful VT team.

59-0. With a crippled team as for starters.

Edit: I hate WI with all my being, and I basically handed them the title last week. Thank God I was wrong.

No argument here that was a very impressive win especially with a 3rd string QB. I just find it hard to drop any of the top 4 teams going into the week based on their performances. If nothing else it's more ammunition for an 8 team playoff, but that will probably take another 20 years.

Agree on 8 team. But FSU, given their close wins over huge losses....they out.

Re: 2014-15 College Football Part II: SEC vs World

Committee really did themselves in last week trying to be cute by dropping FSU to 4. Either they drop a team two spots for destroying a team by 52 by moving a team up two spots for destroying a team by 59, or they drop a P5 team that never lost, or they move a team up two to three spots OVER the team that won by 52 and the team that won by 59 because they beat the team that won by 52 even though none of that mattered before now.

I really want to put OSU in, but at the same time I can't get over that VaTech loss. Yet, the Big 12 can't even decide a champion so who knows. Then there's Florida State, who didn't lose, but didn't really blow anyone out, and didn't play a tough schedule, but didn't play a weak one either. It was one of the most middle of the road schedules ever to be assembled.

We're on the same page the committee isn't. FSU isn't a top 4 team although they will be in when the final 4 comes out tomorrow. I think if OSU gets in it will be TCU that gets bumped since Baylor wins the B12 because the tiebreaker is H2H.

This. Always had a prob with the committee, poll, and selection process.
