2013 WCHA Final Five: end of hockey's great tournament

Re: 2013 WCHA Final Five: end of hockey's great tournament

I cannot recall if we scored on that play or not...but either way it is super funny. Is that the vaunted Wisconsin Trap we've been hearing so much about?

No, the Badgers are way too far out from their goal. This is the vaunted Wisconsin Forecheck.

God...I assume their vaunted Wisconsin Backcheck never allows a goal!

Make fun all you want, but due to injuries and NCAA harassment, Eaves played this system (the Phil forecheck ) because just to get 6 forwards on the ice he had Phil prepared to dress for most road games. It's just lucky for all you guys, Eaves never actually had to unleash Phil.

You do have a point, but Phil can score. And unlike most of the wagon jockeys out west, Phil can also count to five:

How old is this picture? Badgers never can score 5 goals. That's crazy! You sure he's not waving to the beer guy?

You'd think it would have to be at least three years, but shockingly Bucky has reached 5 twice in the last three weeks. It completely threw Phil and the rest of us for a loop:

You forget how weak their NC schedule is a the Kohl Center...
5-0 W vs Alabama-Huntsville
5-2 W vs Alaska-Anchorage
5-0 W vs Penn State

I know, to me it's crazy for WI to keep scheduling these kinds of awful teams. They are of no help in the PWR at all. It'd be nice to see more teams like Miami come in. Or at the very least, some middle of the road teams instead of these bottom feeders.

I see by the schedule we still have the same problem this weekend. :(

You're not playing yourself, you're playing UMD!

Of course, the UAA games were conference games this year.

When you refuse to make the return trip, you get plenty of NC home games against the UAH's and non-ivy ECAC teams.

Now for an important question: I was told that there will NOT be beer sold at the WCHA Final 5 this year. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Why is Wisconsin's biggest fan some dude in his 80s? He probably goes home after the game and watches reruns of Golden Girls.

My ticket package had a flyer in it for next year's B1G tourney that said no beer will be sold in the lower bowl, just in the club section and the arena bars but said nothing about this year's tourney.
