Blaming ESPN will not elevate college hockey. Has any official spokesman for DI hockey informed ESPN of the upcoming schedule? Has anyone been assigned the task of representing DI college hockey to the media? If so, please provide proof beyond your convictions.

They know about it. My college roommate at BU works for ESPN - they are very well aware of everything. And I will tell you what he told me (and what someone else has already mentioned here). They only show it because they HAVE to - it was written into the contract. Otherwise, I can assure you they would show what they used to show before the contract was written. ONE game, the championship game, on ESPN2. Period.
They know about it. My college roommate at BU works for ESPN - they are very well aware of everything. And I will tell you what he told me (and what someone else has already mentioned here). They only show it because they HAVE to - it was written into the contract. Otherwise, I can assure you they would show what they used to show before the contract was written. ONE game, the championship game, on ESPN2. Period.

I think college hockey has a pretty perfect amount of exposure. SOME games are on tv. If you live away from your school, you can catch a few games. Someone who isn't rich can afford to go to the tournament once in a while. And the sport hasn't been turned into a stupid, worthless circus by the media the way college basketball and college football have. If college hockey ever turns into that, I will have long since been done with it.
