Not sure I agree with a standing ovation for Braun but I'm not at all surprised...

Yeah, I'm still struggling with the Braun thing.

I suppose people are of the bunker mentality knowing what he's gonna face on the road. He may be a cheat, but he's OUR cheat. I don't know... :confused:

Honestly the cheating part isn't what bothers me, its the way he handled getting caught (the first time).

85% standing ovation for Braun. Not what I expected. I'm not ready to cheer for him yet, but I'm certainly not going to tell everyone else how they should feel about it.

20 minutes of terror from K-Rod, but win #1 nonetheless. Good outing for Yo. Nice to have our real 3-4 hitters back. It's also nice to have a first baseman who knows how to play first base.

... But... After reading some of the self righteous posts the media tweeted out today, I kinda want to wear the Braun jersey as a big middle finger to them. If he can put up his past numbers, I think I'd fall into the "He may be a cheater, but he's MY team's cheater."

Braun is a piece of garbage and any lemming who cheers for him likely needs some sort of psychological evaluation, but...anyone in the media crying about it should shut up and focus on any of the 1000s of guys out there in pro sports who are no different than him. You'd think someone with some smarts would try to unearth all those names of NBA and tennis players that were in the Biogenesis files. Or the organized doping in college football, or the NFL. And so on. Anyone in the media who is focusing on Braun at this point is a complete hack and has no credibility on the subject whatsoever.

interesting the vitrol for cheating. if he had killed someone with his car, served time and come back I doubt nearly as many ppl would dislike him.

He paid for his crime and is now getting his 2nd chance. Rooting for him to succeed doesn't make you a bad person. It makes you forgiving.

Haudricourt is reporting Braun is having nerve issues in his thumb. Doesn't want to get surgery because it's not guaranteed to fix things.

Perhaps they make a pill/cream/lozenge that will help it heal faster.

Was listening to the XM broadcast and got nervous. Didn't expect them to tee off like that on Boston in the 9th inning. I'd like to get more than one win per series now though.

3rd chance.

Rooting for a cheater, liar and one who took steps to destroy the reputations of other individuals in order to try to save his own *** doesn't make one forgiving. It makes one a rationalizing lemming trying to protect their own foolish emotional investment in people and things they have no control over.

I know this is cliche, but it's honestly how I personally look at sports...

I root for the name on the front of the jersey, not the one on the back.

I will not stop being a Brewer fan simply because Braun has turned out to have character flaws. In order for the Brewers to win, he will have to have success individually. Hope he does - for the benefit of the team.

That said, I'm VERY confident that I would not have participated in a standing ovation for him upon his return from suspension. A suspension that he fully deserved and brought upon himself.


Oh yeah, and the bobblehead is still under the sink.

What a great weekend of Brewer baseball. Starting pitching looks good so far. Can they sustain it? That's obviously the key to the season.

It's my last day of work before vacation, I worked all Friday night and most of Saturday... I think I need to leave work early to watch the first place Brewers this afternoon.

It may be early to call them the first place Brewers, but I'm going to enjoy it while it's there. Last year at this time, they were already horrible. :p

It does have a nice ring to it, doesn't it? Shouldn't there be a '14 Brewer thread instead of going on to the '13? Enjoy the vacay.
