2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

Indeed. Apparently, the Brewers had the longest drought of any team in the history of the award.

He's come a long way and I really enjoy watching him play. So fast and always gives it all.

Did anybody here think that JJ Hardy would ever win a gold glove, let alone two?

Absolutely not. Not very good range and an average arm. Still can't figure out how he won one to begin with.

Don't believe the Braun trade rumors. Ron Roenicke, Doug Melvin and Mark Attanasio met with him and discussed the possibility of moving him to right field to get Khris Davis some playing time, and he was open to it (as if he's going to say no right now?)

Corey Hart says he's 100% and is waiting for medical clearance to start baseball activites, and claims several teams have inquired about his status. He also previously said he'd take less money to stay in Milwaukee.

Ryan Braun "answers" questions from the media

I was hoping for specifics but he refused to give any, wants to move on...blah, blah, blah. Very disappointing.

Most interesting thing from that article is that he apparently ate dinner at the test collector's house recently and things sound smoothed over between them for the most part.

The Brewers have traded Nori Aoki to Kansas City for LHP Will Smith...not sure what to think of this move.

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

Not happy with it, but it does free up the logjam that was brewing in the outfield and maybe it adds a much needed arm to the bullpen.

Braun gets moved to right field?

correct, outfield will be Davis, Gomez, Braun.
I know they wanted to move Aoki to get Davis more playing time but I wish they had gotten someone more proven. We'll see how Will Smith does with the Brewers.

Bummer. I liked Aoki. I am not convinced by Davis yet; he hasn't wowed me so far and it will be harder for him to hit the more the opponents see him. On the other hand, maybe he'll improve with some experience. In either case, I'm not a fan of the risk. I hope he proves me wrong.

The thing is this is the kind of risk the Brewers need to take to be competitive, I just wish they had gotten more in return for a good leadoff/#2 hitter.

I agree. 8-10 with a 4.76 ERA in 35 games, including 17 starts is not really all that appealing compared to what we already have. Bug hey, he's left-handed! :p

[Low hanging fruit]
I'm going to be really annoyed when he insists that we put Jaden in Nashville.

I guess I was misunderstanding those lyrics all these years. "B-ball" is "baseball". Got it.

Well done.

Not surprised by the move, but who bats leadoff now? Didn't Weeks do it before Aoki? I don't really like him in that spot.

Gomez, Segura or Gennett might lead off.
Thornburg has the #5 spot for now behind Gallardo, Lohse, Peralta and Estrada.

Some first base names: Loney, Davis, Morrison. Seattle and Jack Z. want Hart.

Seattle and Jack Z. have signed Hart... :( so much for a hometown discount for missing an entire year that cost the brewers $10 mil.

Morrison may get traded to Seattle as well (which is fine, as I didn't like that choice.... but I haven't seen a name I like besides Hart, who was questionable anyway). Davis also seems to be hurt all the time, and isn't that great (certainly not as good as a healthy Hart). Loney will be overpriced. What now?
