Why take it personal when someone TELLS me I said / meant something I did not?

Sorry I called your buddy on his mistake.

I said that in the event anyone thought BU would still deserve a NCAA tournament berth while losing in their conference final that I would then believe such reasoning would also apply to UND...by the same token. That was a direct response, with quote to Skate.

Then OnMAA pipes in with an apparent belief I thought UND deserved to be in the NCAA tournament. Not what I posted. Subsequently admonishes me for not responding directly to Skate when in fact That's exactly what I did. Yeah...my fault.

I'm just saying, you're the only one saying things like "idiot" and "what a tool." I'm not even paying attention to the actual argument.

I don't care about your argument. All I'm saying is that in the discussion between poster A and poster B, only one of those posters is making things personal.

Huh. Some deduction. That is twisting the logic and then some.

I was only bringing forth the argument that UND would not/should not get into the tourney, cause two other teams (not BU) ahead of them in the rankings did not get in either. I never brought up, or discussed BU, until you suggested that I would support BU getting into the tourney based on some logic someone else had posted. This is not the first time you are trying to put words into my mouth that I never uttered. That I did take offense to, but kindly suggested that I never suggested such a thing, and then you go off into the name calling.

Calling a spade a spade here.

Not quite true. You were disputing what you interpreted as my belief UND deserved a berth. An incorrect interpretation and assumption by YOU.

I was discussing BU in response to the subject of BU brought forth by Skate as indicated by my quoting of Skate. You know the person I should be responding to, which I guess directly quoting and responding to somehow seems strangely beyond discernment by you.

The comment regarding you favoring BU over UND in the hypothetical scenarios is / was a general reference to your long standing, self admitted favoring of the East. Not an assumption or conclusion that you believed BU should get a berth even had they lost the conference final. Another incorrect conclusion and assumption per what I posted.

The name calling admonishment is an amusing one from the guy who labels and calls anyone with opinions he objects to a "troll" in clear disparaging manner. Strange the subjective distaste for "name calling" that depends upon the source.

Brooky is right on with this. It isn't personal. It was in response to my post about BU not making the tournament if they had lost and I appreciated the response and agreed that UND deserved consideration as well. Let's not dig a grave here. Brooky deserves better treatment. Just my two cents.
