That was almost anticlimactic. We've got ourselves two goalies. Not all that impressed with Saint Cloud, might just have been an off night but I think our better speed had something to do,with that especially on D. We withstood their spurt the second half of the middle period and somehow came out fresh again for the third. Tomorrow will no doubt be even tougher but we got the win we needed and deserved.
We also won a big one for the ECAC ....
and
the only two teams that beat Ferris State this year, St. Lawrence and Colgate
Very well said.. Union looked surprisingly comfortable on the big ice surface and their positioning was almost flawless. Other than a couple hail-mary passes and some individual moves by SCSU forwards U allowed almost no odd man rushes. I had thought that we might see Alex in one of these last 3 games and was great to see him have a good night. Its actually kinda interesting with the bigger ice surface, the puck doesn't move as quickly from side to side so Alex's sometime lack of lateral mobility wasn't tested as much. A big win and huge congrats to the team & coaches!! This will help come PWR time.IMHO, from watching it on the internet, the team 3 stars were poise/confidence ( same thing, applies to Alex too ), great positional play, great team speed. Great win , hope we are filling the tank back up for tomorrow night. Actually team didn't look tired at all , in the post game interview Bodie looked great. This was certainly a great team win, big KUDOS all around. As I write this I must not forget the coaching staff, great prep, nice even keel out there tonight.
Needless to say, 'Sak had his breakout performance tonight. It was about as big of a test as you could have given him, and he passed with flying colors.
Did we have an injured player late into the third? He went down near our bench and way lying on the ice? My Stretch feed was spotty and sound poor. Was that Hatch? Any injury reports? Was that a penalty or just a good forecheck?
