Re: 2013-2014 Union Dutchmen - Can U Three Peat? (Part II)

end result is they are not old, end of story.

4 very good hockey teams and dhould be great hockey

this we do know

mn, bc, nf are loaded with nhl draft picks. Union has 1. mn has 3 times as many + on current roster than union has in program history. all 3 have 50 million dollar+ rinks, not so at union. all 3 have 18 dcholarships, union has none

those are advantages, not some bs "old team" fairy tale.

demko is the wild card

Re: 2013-2014 Union Dutchmen - Can U Three Peat? (Part II)

So now we know Unions' excuse.
No scholarships.
No draft picks.
And they're young to boot!

:p :D
Union does not have athletic scholarships, every sport is D3 except for hockey. However, I'm sure Union can give grants and other forms of financial aid to the athletes they really want. Union has one draft pick and the average age of the team is 21 years, 11 months.

Union plays "no-excuse" hockey. You will never get an excuse out of this team. By the way, don't you BC fans have your own thread where you can deposit your inane comments. There is also a Boston College Union College Thread as well. This way the Union College faithful can share information here without having to wade through your crap.

Re: 2013-2014 Union Dutchmen - Can U Three Peat? (Part II)

At the end of the day the number of scholarships, draft picks, wins, losses, unbeaten streaks, and age of players doesn't matter. In a week and a half 4 teams will battle tooth and nail for the ultimate goal. Nothing else matters once they step on that ice we all are forgetting that. Of the 4 teams any team could win on any give night, that's the nature of hockey.

Also I would have never thought 3 weeks ago I would be defending Union but here I am. Been solid all year and hope it continues. See you all in Philly and let's get another for the ECAC

Re: 2013-2014 Union Dutchmen - Can U Three Peat? (Part II)

Union has sold out their ticket allotment for the Frozen Four in less than a day. Anyone know what section we'll be in? I assume each school got one lower bowl section and one upper bowl section.
Glad I went down yesterday morning to get mine. I tried to call four times and couldn't get through so decided to go in person. I figured they'd sell out fast. At that time they didn't know what section Union was in, and yes we're in an upper bowl and a lower bowl section. We're in the lower bowl, hopefully not too close to the ice. Are you able to make the trip?

Hey BC Fan - your facts are wrong, Dope

Here is a list of the average ages of all the NCAA DI hockey teams from College Hockey News. As you can see Union is down at the bottom, on the younger side along with many ECAC teams. So what? Below that is another list showing the youngest 30 players. While BC has an admitted a young team as evidenced by 4 of these "youngest 30 players", Minnesota actualy has more, 5, and you don't hear Minnesota fans whinning about age. You might also be interested to know that Union has zero of the oldest 30 players in DI College Hockey.

I didn't think that BC fans were cry babies. Maybe just you. Is this the excuse you will use if you don't take another national tournament?

Re: 2013-2014 Union Dutchmen - Can U Three Peat? (Part II)

I felt fortunate to get through via phone...heck, I even got disconnected somehow and got back in a minute later.

I can't say I'm surprised about the allotment selling out. There's a buzz about this team that we haven't seen in...well...two years! :p

All kidding aside, I think we'll have ourselves some excellent games. Arguably the best three teams in the country and the two hottest teams (ND & Union). Why do we have to wait two weeks for this?????

Yes, I was able to get through on my first call. I will be sitting in the lower bowl as well. Great seeing you in Bridgeport..See U in Philly!

Re: 2013-2014 Union Dutchmen - Can U Three Peat? (Part II)

I'm wondering which corner the Union seats will be in. This weekend we had the attacking end only once. Good vantage point for Ghost's whackadoo goal tending flurry.

I didn't love my view in Tampa. I requested an Upper Row in the lower bowl near the aisle...but I doubt they'll actually give it to me.

"I don’t know about you, though, but the biggest surprise to me has to be Union’s dominance in Bridgeport. They pretty much owned two Hockey East teams and right now have to be a favorite to hoist the trophy, even though they have to get through BC to get there. Anyone who was watching those games watched a team that has a major drive for some unfinished business."

I like how your highlighted text color matches your chicklets. +1 for style points.

You know, I like Coach Sneddon (former ECAC coach), Coach Patrick (former ECAC Asst. Coach), and Coach Wallack, (former ECAC Asst. Coach), and want them to do well. But really, you would think UVM was a power house based on your arrogance. Don't you have a class to teach?

I asked for the same thing in Bridgeport and got somewhere in the lower third of section 112. I asked for the upper part of the lower bowl in Philly, but I don't know how many of these requests they'll be able to accommodate. In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter...we'll be there! :D
