Not sure it is a shocker. RMU has had trouble with everybody but Penn State and bye of late.

Agree with Arm here. RMU fell completely off the map right after the Lindenwood loss and never recovered. That could be many things, players hurt, lost self confidence, breaks earlier in the season now going the other way etc etc.

I was never convinced of them as a top ten team early on, but when they, took 3 of 4 points from Quinnipiac and then beat Mercyhurst the next weekend it made me a believer. That was the end of a stretch were they went undefeated for 14 games with 12 wins and 2 ties. (This included wins over MU (2x), Quinnipiac, SLU 2x, RIT 2x and Ohio). At that point I though they were for real. Then a weekend later they lost to Lindenwood and after that it is like the plague hit them, and they never seem to have recovered from that.

The irony in all this is that the 3 points RMU took over Quinnipiac, may very well cost Quinnipiac a spot in the final 8.

Cinderella is off to a slow start out East. Quinnipiac down 3-0 to Clarkson after two. The Bobcats have only managed six shots - yikes.

Kate Leary has BC up 1-0 on Vermont after 20 minutes. The Eagles lead in shots, 19-10.

Re: 2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread

Miss Leary has used her nifty mittens to stake BC to a 3-0 lead in the second. Twelve goals on the season and 1/4 of them in this game.

Now that's a clutch player. Great timing.

Clarkson has beaten Quinnipiac 6-0. Unfortunately, Erin Ambrose was carted off the ice shortly after the 6th goal was scored and could not put any weight on her left leg. This would be a disasterous loss to Clarkson.

Quinnipiac loses 6-0. Quinnipiac only 12 shots on goal all game. Didn't see a blowout coming with QU season on the line and hosting FF.

Surely hope it is less serious than it sounds from your account. Most significant ingredient to an exciting post season...for me it's seeing teams compete in their top form with full / healthy rosters at their disposal.

I had the Clarkson 'radio' stream on, and they were saying that she had come back to the bench and might take one more shift on the ice, etc. Though I'm not sure whether she ended up doing so or not. So not good, but maybe not too bad.

I had to go away from the radio broadcast for a short time and did not hear this. Certainly would be good that she was back on the bench (maybe). The way Bob Ahfeld and Josh Bartell described it certainly did not sound good.

Hopefully, it is nothing that will keep her out tomorrow, and even more importantly, next week. Although, yes, tomorrow is a huge game for the Golden Knights as well.

Lakers have a 13-4 advantage in shots, but the scoreboard still reads 0-0 versus RIT after one.

It really would not make much sense in any event to return to the ice late in a game considering the lopsided score, and unnecessarily risk more serious injury.

RIT scores a power play goal at 19:03 of the second period to lead 1-0 in a game in which they've been outshot 33-11.
