The USCHO Fan Forum has migrated to a new plaform, xenForo. Most of the function of the forum should work in familiar ways.
Please note that you can switch between light and dark modes by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of the main menu bar.
We are hoping that this new platform will prove to be faster and more reliable. Please feel free to explore its features.
Re: 2013-2014 D-I Scores and Results Updates Thread
Minnesota wins 7-1, including 4 goals in a 57 second span of the second period. Once they didn't let the band finish the Rouser before scoring again and the black hole chant never did get completed. After the second St. Cloud took the least effective time out ever.
Just home from the game. Butters was excellent, Mankato as a whole was very good. I wouldn't say Wisconsin played badly; a little slow getting going, but otherwise the same effort, etc. that could just as easily been last night's 4-0 Badger win.
A couple trips and slashes that didn't get called early, and then got called late that might have changed things; but the refs didn't beat the Badgers. Mankato did.
Mostly, the puck just wouldn't cooperate! A goodly number of times the puck would have normally gone into the net, but tonight found a way to bounce the other way. The three goals were a Rigsby kick-save on a close-in shot that found its way right to a Mankato forward who buried it, a shot from about the faceoff dot that caught the far post and bounced in, and a 3rd period semi-breakaway (because the Badgers were pushing a D forward) that the other D got back to, and got a stick on. But the puck bounced straight up and right back down to the Mankato forward, who beat Rigsby.
So waddayagonnado! Tip your hat, shrug your shoulder, come back and try again tomorrow.
