2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

Aw c'mon. You can't REALLY root for either one, can you? I'd go for the tie!:D
I confess... committed a hockey sin by leaving at the end of the 2nd. Union was all over 'Gate and the Raiders looked like last night was catching up to them. Back at the hotel listening on the 'net. I don't see Colgate coming back from 3 down against this Union team.

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

We finish the season ranked 6 in the country thanks to Wisconsins win. In all likelihood we will be in Bridgeport with Union, Providence, and either North Dakota or Vermont. We will play Providence on Friday. Time to play our best hockey. Bridgeport should be rocking on Friday with 3 teams within 3 hours playing

I agree. Quinnipiac vs. Providence and Union vs. Vermont in Bridgeport.

I thought you guys and Lowell were the best two teams that PC played this year....Should be fun but things are different now as PC went down the tubes after our matchup in November.

Quinnipiac hasn't been blowing the doors of teams either, lately. Though, when Samuels-Thomas came back last weekend, that seemed to give them new life. We'll see what happens on Friday, if that's indeed the matchup.

Go Q!

Anyone wanting to relive the "fun" of watching QU in the national championship game can turn into ESPN U right now

Bridgeport officially. Expect a huge contingent of a gold rush of Quinnipiac fans.

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

This is where we wanted to be at the beginning of the year. In Bridgeport in the NCAA tournament. Let's hope it's a good week of practice and I look forward to seeing gold the most prevalent color Friday

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

Excited to hear they're in Bridgeport. If they win on Friday, I'll be there on Saturday.

Go Bobcats!

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

Home from Lake Placid. Tickets in hand for Bridgeport. Keep the bus rolling boys!

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

Any early word on the ticket situation through QU?
I called the ticket office and was told they won't know details until late tomorrow or Tuesday morning. They're waiting to heard what their allotment is going to be.

Being the impatient one that I am, I decide to pay the ransom charged by Ticketmaster and ordered mine online. At least I know I'll be in the building. ;)

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

Recruit stats from over the weekend. Sorry I was in Fort Myers for Red Sox spring training and didn't have time for the updates.

AJHL Playoffs

Andrew Taverner 1 goal and 2 assists in a 5-4 win in 2OT. Sherwood Park leads the series 3-2. Taverner has been real good in the playoffs with 5 goals and 5 assists in 7 playoff games. 1.4 PPG

BCHL Playoffs

Canon Pieper had 1 goal and Bo Pieper had 1 assist as Coquitlam advanced with a series win in 6 games. Neither registered a point in Game 5.

Logan Mick missed games 5 and 6 but had no points in a game 7 win for Vernon.

USHL

Vince Pedrie did not play in either of Indiana's wins over the weekend.

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

Very disappointing. That OT goal was a nightmare defensively. Couple bad choices with tired legs and tired minds, and Colgate wins it.

By the way, I had to listen to the Colgate radio announcer on the drive home from work (couldn't pull up QUN on my phone). Very impressed with how impartial he was. Seriously. It's tough to find an impartial play-by-play guy in this league, so major props to Colgate for having one.

Time to gear up for the Tourney. Can't say I'm expecting what we got last year, but anything can happen this time of year. Hope for some magic.

Q will be very hungry; I hope that translates to another ECAC tourney win. Good luck, and congrats to the Jones brothers and JST on great careers.

Their number 1 goal this season was to get to Philly. Plain and simple. The Jones' have been quoted as saying nothing matters unless they get a ring. I think the team will be hungry. I believe the seniors are going to lead by example. They can't do it alone but they can sure set the tone.

Good luck, and congrats to the Jones brothers and JST on great careers.
Thank you. It's gonna be hard to see them go but the future sure looks bright in Hamden.

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

Sunday recruit stats

AJHL

Andrew Taverner had another big game with 1 goal and 2 assists but Sherwood Park lost 5-3 and now will play tomorrow night in Game 7. He is now second in the AJHL in playoff scoring but has played two less games than the leader and trails the leader by 3 points. 16 to 13 for totals.

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

Pretty quiet around these parts.

Not gonna go out on a limb here and say that if we have a glaring weakness (a fatal flaw in the NCAA tournament if it's not prevented) it's that this QU team has had trouble holding leads all season. Even back in the fall when they were really hot, they would get blitzed and a multiple goal lead would vanish in minutes.

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats Part II: The final push towards Philadelphia

Just FYI: According to someone in the East Regional thread, parking is going to be $20 for the games. Plan accordingly -- Metro North might actually be cheaper than driving.
