Not sure students are back yet. I think most will start to come in Saturday and Sunday.

Great win tonight over Union. That Union team is very good. Garteig was fantastic. The only goal he gave up was a re-direct. JST with another big night with a goal and an assist. Back in first place. Need a to follow that win up with a win tomorrow over RPI. Also nice to see the old gold jersey's back in use.

I'll welcome myself back to the forum after a prolonged absence. I'm ready to start the Parkway to Philly.

I thought the Bobcats looked excellent tonight against Union. Michael Garteig is really starting to feel it (he couldn't have done anything about that goal) and the penalty kill has just been sublime. It would be nice if the power play would follow suit, but we've seen in the past that they can manage without a high-powered power play (although it hasn't been all that bad). Credit the Stevens kid in goal for Union, because had he not played so well it might have been a 4-1 game. Big points for the PairWise tonight!

Chatting with Larson and Schvatz last week, it's a little bit concerning that the offense has taken a dip over the last month or so. These guys really should be putting in three or four goals a night (much easier said than done, of course, and a 2-1 outcome against a Union team with an excellent defense is just fine), and that's hurting them against teams like Harvard. Matthew Peca has to wake up at some point. He missed at least one pretty easy scoring chance tonight and hasn't been the go-to scorer we thought he's be this year. Maybe he's just saving himself for the stretch run, but he's been too quiet in terms of putting the puck in the net.

Gotta wrap up two more points tomorrow night against RPI.

All for the move back to the old gold jerseys. Though as Larson pointed out tonight, they are slightly different. Looks like a blue back drop behind the logo, which I'm not sure if I like yet. Either way, these uni's are original to this school, don't mimic a professional jersey to a T, and are just overall better. Q went on a run last year in those jerseys and used them during its postseason run. Get rid of the QuinniSmash jerseys for good and let's keep these golds.

As for the game, BIG TIME WIN. That's a real solid team over there, but I guess Ken Schott and his boys will have to hold off on their Cleary Cup celebration for the time being.

Agreed on all counts about the offense as well as Garteig. Real pleasure watching him play tonight.

Can't take tomorrow's game lightly. Two points against RPI finishes the weekend, keeps the train rolling, and continues to point the arrow up for the good guys.

Also, I hear Yankee Candle has released a couple of new scents. Very excited to see what they have in store for 2014. Gonna be a BIG year for candles.

Possibly one of the best overall efforts of the season. Even with the anemic offense, the D was solid and Garteig was a stud. Union may be the best team we face this year so it was good to see a tremendous effort. Offensively, I think we had much better looks tonight than we've been getting but Stevens came up big when he needed to.

Tonight's unsung hero was Van Brabant. The kid left everything he had on the ice every shift. Solid play all around, and he was credited with the game winner.

Huge win... now they need to finish off tomorrow by taking it to the Engineers.

Mark, I was at the game tonight and was very impressed with both evenly matched teams. I kept saying to Jim Farrell that the entire game was big time college hockey. I would call Barron the unsung hero tonight, if he does not keep that puck in the offensive zone and shoot, QU has OT. Great game by both teams, glad Yale is only one point farther back instead of three.

That was a great play and it's too bad he didn't get credited for the goal, but BVB played a complete game.

Quinnipiac's record versus the teams in the top 16 of the pairwise rankings

4-1-1 with wins over Lowell (2), Union, Cornell and tie against Providence with the loss coming against Union.

If you Maine and Yale who are 17 and 18 respectively that record is 5-1-2 against quality teams.

They also have 2 games against Clarkson who is 10th in the Pairwise and 1 more each with Cornell (13) and Yale (18).

Tonight will not be a cake walk. RPI is always tough and will be hungry after losing to Princeton last night. We'll need to keep up the intensity level and try to get more pucks into the net. Defense will need to have another solid performance along with Garteig. There's a very important 2 points to be had tonight as Union has 2 games in hand until next weekend.

RPI fan here -- I heard something about a stream of the game on YouTube tonight? Is this true, and what channel/link should I go to on there to get the stream later this evening? (I promised a couple of friends some beer, pizza and RPI hockey and I'd like to make good on that promise :D)

Congrats to the Bobcats on a well earned win last night. I thought it was a terrific game by both teams and much better played (i.e. less sloppy - particularly in goal) than the game in Schenectady. The first game had more offensive excitement, but a game like last night is just as exciting in my book. Was also impressed that, as much is obvious both teams don't like each other, it was a pretty clean hard hitting game. Hopefully there will be a rubber match (or two!) between these teams before the season ends.
