I think you guys have Chip on the bandwagon as well!
Chip's been supportive... ;)

Game day at the Bank!

Another pair of Ivies visit this weekend and both teams have been struggling. Harvard always seems to play us tough so it will be important to be focused and play a strong 60 minutes with no lapses. There's 4 points on the table for the taking.

Go Q!

When I saw them playing in the BC Junior league one thing stuck out. They may be 5'9" but they played like they were 6'3".
They are fearless out on the ice. Both will grind it out in the corners and aren't afraid to lay a shoulder into someone. They define "pesky".

Permanent location for the banners now.
I'd heard last weekend they were going to get this done but it sounded like it might take a while. Glad to see they're up where they belong!

From what I heard what they needed was an entire day when the ice was not being used to put them up.

And apparently they needed to rent some equipment... that was the rumor I heard anyway. They were supposed to hang banners next door for women's basketball as well.

So, funny story about my trip to Hamden.

I got I-95'ed. Got on the highway at the CT border at 5, was at exit 10 at 6:15. Turned around and came home, since between the traffic report and the distance left, I figured I wasn't getting to the building until 8pm. Ridiculous traffic.

Very glad QU has a free online stream. At least I'm able to watch the thing.

A win is a win....doesn't have to be pretty.

Ugly Ugly win tonight. The Bobcats played like crap for most of the night. Harvard outplayed them the majority of the time. Only time Quinnipiac looked halfway good was in the second period. Tough to lose Kellen Jones too for a game misconduct. Not sure he deserved it. Without Kellen, Rand was forced to double shift players and likely shorten our bench.

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats: New season, new scoreboards, new chance at redemption

That was a really bad performance defensively. They weren't terrible in Harvard's end, but my goodness. What a nightmare defensively.

A win's a win, though.

This team, by the way, has an 11-game unbeaten streak, and Matthew Peca has only two goals. If he gets that rolling, can you imagine how good they can be?

I think were were missing Tolkinen tonight. I didn't hear his name at all tonight and they were playing with Barron, Clifton, Toews, Smith, Fiala, Sherbinin and Federico.....Though the Quinnipiac roster page is now listing Fiala as a forward. Very interesting.

Yeah, Malafronte reported he was injured. Hopefully that's not the reason for the poor defense -- one player does not make a unit. Still, it's a big loss to have only one upperclassman on the blueline.

Did the injury happen in practice or the Yale game?

That's what I'm going with too. It wasn't their best effort, but it alos wasn't their worst. I think Harvard stepped it up a notch or two and we just didn't react to it. Garteig made some fantastic saves that were the difference tonight.

The line of Sherbibin, T. Clifton, and Lemire skated their butts off, doing everything you expect from your checking line. Other than that, everyone else was a bit flat it seemed. I don't want to say they played down to Harvard, but it was close.

I'll take the 2 points and wait for the winless Big Green tomorrow. The 'Cats are going to need a good, solid effort and not let Dartmouth get any advantage.
