Your right. There's a new fire Marshall and he took away about 500-600 standing capacity. When your about to walk in the rink the capacity is in pretty small lettering on a white sheet of paper. I believe is said something along the lines of 3025 seated 500 standing. The Yale game was upwards of 3600 though

The announced Yale attendance figure also includes 170 in the balcony area.

I would love for both Minnesota and St. Cloud State to lose this weekend and for both Quinnipiac and Providence to sweep Princeton and UNH respectively setting up a possible #1-#2 matchup in Hamden on November 27th. A longshot but it would be awesome to see.

Why does it matter? Whether we're 1 and 2 or 3 and 4, chances are it'll be a battle of top-10's. The polls are meaningless; wins and losses are what matters. I'll take the matchup with the Friars regardless of where either of us are ranked.

It matters to prospective recruits. I'd rather have team #1 or #2 team in rankings if its going to bag us a very good recruit that maybe in the past we could never have gotten.

From the Tweets flying around it sounds like the boys are banged up. Both of the
Twins seem to be hurting but not enough to keep them out.

Saw that as well. Hopefully its just some bumps and bruises and nothing major and something they can play through. Tolkinen is nursing the broken foot. This was the perfect time to heal him up with a bit of a soft stretch of games outside of Providence (which is non league).

Kellen seems to be banged up more than Connor. Their tough....it will take doctor's orders to keep those 2 out of the line up. :-)

Most recruits are 2-4 years away so I doubt many of them are making decisions based on a current poll ranking. The polls are really only good for the fans IMHO.

Hey Ken, I gotta ask you this because I'm very curious...

Since you're on the other side of the world there in BC, what's your attraction to the Bobcats? Obviously you've seen most of our BC kids play, and seem to have a keen interest in their success here in Hamden.

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats: New season, new scoreboards, new chance at redemption

HockeyDB lists him as being from Apple Valley, MN. I didn't think there was an Overland Park MN so I checked google maps and couldn't find it.

Apple Valley the home of Justin Eddy who was our goalie from 2000-2004 back in the old NIP days.

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats: New season, new scoreboards, new chance at redemption

With the addition of Vince Pedrie that brings the total commitments to 7 for the 2014-15 season. 6 forwards and 1 defenseman. They probably only need 1 guy on defense with Tolkinen graduating so I wouldn't expect another commitment back there. I think they bring in one more recruit for 2014-15 probably another forward. I asked Coach Riga about some recruits and he said they had some offers on guys and was expecting some commitments within the next couple of weeks. Looks like Pedrie is the start. Hopefully they also start to load up more on future years. The one good thing that Riga said is they are going after some of the bigger name guys now.

Ha, they fixed it already.

Just another FYI, I checked Minnesota or Star Tribune Hockey Hub and during the 2010-11 season when Vince Pedrie was a junior at Apple Valley he played with then sophomore Hudson Fasching who is currently having an impact freshman year for the Gophers.

Apple Valley HS 2010-11 roster...

He was 3rd in points that year behind A J Michaelson (also a soph Gopher) and Fasching. Stats...

I agree. Never trusted a Western Canadian and I don't plan on ever doing so. I am kidding of course. Your input and expertise from that part of the area has been much appreciated for me.

That is as long as you aren't a Vancouver Whitecaps fan. Go Timbers.

I was covering the UNH game Saturday so I had to watch in between whistles from the press box. Seemed like things went pretty well. That article on the Jones boys was just wonderful. Love Chip and all he has done. I just ordered his book and I will provide a detailed report as soon as it gets here. All the talk after the game at the Whit the other day was how big this weekend is for UNH as they travel to Providence. Really interested to see how it all goes. Also, I wonder what the latest Princeton health scare will mean for the weekend games. Will QU have to travel there? Will there be a neutral site game? Can they just play both games at QU?

It was going on last weekend and and the Yale football game was not cancelled. Outdoors obviously.

Very serious, but has been going on for months now

To tell you the truth, Mark, I would rather not to say. Let's just say I have a small personal interest in the Bobcats.
I also enjoy following Canadian kids and more specifically BC kids during their US collage hockey careers.

Speaking of a Canadian lad heading to Quinnipiac. This one knows how to put the puck in the net. 23 points in 21 games.
