3-1 loss to anchorage. Really a poor loss to a bad team.

Oh well. It's important to remember we lost to AIC last year, so ... it's a long season, and this team will be fine.

Hopefully we can get a split out of the weekend but last night was the game they really needed to win. Alaska Fairbanks is much better than Anchorage.

They tend to rise (and fall) to the level of their competition. You'll see a different team tonight.

Wow, aren't you a hater. ;)

To be honest, it's hard to judge where a lot of teams in the nWCHA are in relation to each other. The conference is wide open. Don't sell UAA short, they're not a terrible team. Another thing to factor is travel, it's not easy for a team to cross four time zones and play a game at essentially midnight. That said you guys have ability to beat UAF.

And that is from an Anchorage fan who's team can not beat Fairbanks.

Don't mind bird man, he's just a dirty old man who has regrets marrying a woman who wears the pants in the relationship.

Now as for you guys, I was impressed with Samuel-Thomas last night, that kid has a bright future if he makes the big show.

I agree, they do have the ability to beat UA_. The Nanooks were extremely physical last night, and with taking 3 misconducts I would expect them to play much less physical tonight. Go Bobcats!!

To me it looked like your team overlooked us and thought it would be a squash match. Your "new" goaltender looked okay, at times it seemed we rattled him and got into his head. From my horrible seats it looked liked the first and last goal kinda fluttered/fell into the net. You have a pesky/poised team which looks like it really helps them in the postseason.

They've been known to do that from time to time. Being the first game, as far from home as they could get, I think they may just not have had any legs.

. The 3rd goal was a wicked deflection at the last second (replay confirmed that). The first 2 goals weren't clear on the video feed but appeared to be defensive breakdowns more than Gartieg playing them poorly.

You have a pesky/poised team which looks like it really helps them in the postseason.

Thanks. While a win would have been nice last night, it's way too early to worry about anything.

I have a feeling they'll be pumped up for tonight. I don't see them putting up 2 stinkers in a row. The D just needs to settle down and play their systems. Offensively, I'd like to see a little more urgency. They'll be hungry and I'm sure they don't want to come home 0-2.

Great 4-1 win tonight with 3 freshman scoring goals in Smith, Anas and Connor Clifton.

Much better effort all around tonight. Power play was productive and the difference in the game. Gartieg looked good but a little sloppy at times. D was much better than last night. The goal by Anas was filthy. A nice rebound and a good win.

Anas had a goal and two assists as well tonight. Long trip home now. Have to get ready to play a really good Lowell team next weekend.

Just bought two tickets to the Lowell game Friday night. Anyone going? Will also be making the trip to Hamden for the opener on Saturday.
