Yes it twas a great night last night raising the banners, unveiling the new "Bob-Boards" and also seeing a sell-out crowd and a 3-1 win over a very good UMass Lowell team. The video "unveiling" the new "Bob-Boards" is now up on Quinnipiac Athletics QUTube site:

From watching the game video, it seems there were quite a number of no shows at the sell out.

Great time Saturday night. Best early season crowd that I can remember. New video boards look awesome.

Looking forward to a return trip soon.

With the sweep of Lowell we jump up to number 9 in both polls.

Game day at the Bank!

It will be interesting to see how the team handles this one after last year's AIC debacle. There is no way they can afford to overlook Bentley. No playing down to their opponent. Stay hungry and play hard.

Go Q!

It will be interesting to see if Garteig starts in net tonight or they go with Rouleau or Meyers. Last year they played Garteig in place of Hartzell.

Better call the Fire Marshal ;) Is 3386 the seated capacity? Or seated capacity plus standing room? Do you consider selling all the seats with some standing room left a sellout. Just wondering?

The listed capacity is seats only. That's why they've fit well over 4,000 fans into some of the biggest games. Think the record is somewhere over 4,200.

Thanks, might check the team out tonight.

Alex Barron needs to step it up. Enough said

They played poorly at times but thankfully got the win. The second goal given up was a brutal turnover. Credit the Bentley goalie for for his 46 saves. This game could have been 8 or 9 goals for Quinnipiac if it was someone worse back there.

Re: 2013-14 Quinnipiac Bobcats: New season, new scoreboards, new chance at redemption

Definitely a lackluster effort for the most part. On the other hand, I got the feeling at times that they were just toying with Bentley. In the end, it's a win and I'm sure the coaches will have plenty for them to work on before Friday.

It also looked like they were trying some different things on the power play. If they had just settled down and took a little off some of the passes, they might have had a couple more PPG's.

The freshmen continue to impress me. Anas had as filthy a goal as I've seen... roofed it from the goal line, nothing but net! The whole bunch of them seem to skate hard and play well with the upperclassmen. Quenneville looks like he's been teamed up with the Jones' for years. Derek Smith and Connor Clifton are going to be studs on the blue line.

Gartieg looked a little shaky tonight, especially on the first goal. What should have been a routing glove save deflected softly over it and fluttered into the net. The other 2 goals weren't really his fault but he just didn't appear as comfortable as he was over the weekend.

At the end of the day it's another win and I'll take it.

Holy Cross in Worcester on Friday followed by a 4:00 rematch on Saturday at the Bank.

Michael Garteig has been named ECAC Goalie of the Week.

Luckily, that was announced before last night's game. While he wasn't bad last night, 3 goals on 13 shots isn't very good. I'm sure he'll rebound from it.
