2012 Women's Beanpot

Re: 2012 Women's Beanpot

Does anyone know why the women's beanpot started a week early this year?

Again, speculation on my part, but most team's regular seasons conclude the second full week in February this year, so if the BP finals were also in that week (Feb. 13 - 18, 19) it would be a hardship for all involved. Since three of the weekdays this week are in February, and the BP semis were held on "February Eve", it's not really that early.

I don't think it's horrible to stagger the men and women - BU had a lot of students in their fan base last night that may have opted to study if they'd been to the men's semi's the night before.

Re: 2012 Women's Beanpot

BC up 4-2 with 6:00 to go in third.

Ashley Motherwell with two goals for the Eagles.

Re: 2012 Women's Beanpot

T's Pub is emptying out and WBA is filling up for the Beanpot finale between BU and Northeastern.

Re: 2012 Women's Beanpot

Great end to end action and a quite vociferous crowd made for an entertaining first period. No score.

Re: 2012 Women's Beanpot

Listening to the Beanpot final online....now granted that these announcers are students probably working within their major, or for extra credit but can they at least understand and know the game they are suppossedly reporting on? Aside from being homers, that I expect but they have very little hockey knowledge....sorry to be so demanding!

If you think this is bad, you obviously didn't listen to the Harvard play-by-play. By comparison, this is Doc Emrick.

Re: 2012 Women's Beanpot

Tied at two after two. BU uses a couple of 5 on 3s to draw even.

Re: 2012 Women's Beanpot

BU going on the powerplay with 11:44 left in the third. Shots are 31-19 in the Terriers favor.

Re: 2012 Women's Beanpot

Terriers take a penalty in the offensive zone 30 seconds into the PP.

Re: 2012 Women's Beanpot

Fratkin just takes a crosscheck penalty in the D zone giving the Huskies a two man advantage

Re: 2012 Women's Beanpot

Terriers kill it off, with Poulin getting off a nice blast that handcuffed Schelling

Re: 2012 Women's Beanpot

Standing at the left post, Tutino slams home a rebound to give the Terriers a PP goal and the lead with 5:29 left in third

Re: 2012 Women's Beanpot

WOW!!! Huskies tie it on a wicked blast from the left point that goes high glove through a sea of bodies

Re: 2012 Women's Beanpot

Sperry makes a big glove save on a 3 on 1 with 2:30 to go

Re: 2012 Women's Beanpot

Poulin takes a tripping penalty in the offensive zone with 1:44 to go.

Re: 2012 Women's Beanpot

Terriers get two shorthanded rushes and shots on Schelling and have 16 seconds left to kill going into OT

Re: 2012 Women's Beanpot

What a great win for NU in OT over BU! Good effort as it looked precarious in the 3rd. Big big win for that program revitalizing itself into a Hockey East force!
