2012 Presidential Election Part III: October Surprise!

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Part III: October Surprise!

Its hilarious to say that he needs to pull a Biden....but he needs to pull a Biden. Not an overwhelming debate victory, but he needs to do what his VP did, which is call out to Romney's face blatant hypocrisy and unworkable ideas. Romney brings up trade with China? Bring up Romney outsourcing jobs to China. Romney brings up the deficit? Ask him how his tax plan differs from George W Bush's. Romney brings up Libya? Ask him how much experience he has managing foreign affairs.

Obama doesn't need to rip Romney to shreds any more than Biden went after Ryan. But he needs to drop the hammer when appropriate. One bad debate performance can be chalked up to rust. Two bad ones in a row becomes a pattern and a damaging narrative for the media and the country to play into.

And Romney will ask the man who has taken personal credit for clipping Bin Laden about a thousand times, why he thinks he shouldn't be held accountable for the failures in Benghazi. "The buck stops with Hillary?"

People are dead. And His Failureness knew almost immediately what had happened. Yet for days he and his administration continued to flog the narrative about "spontaneous" demonstrations and insulting videos. We now know he and they were serially lying. A week after the massacre in Benghazi, he mentioned the video half a dozen times in his speech before the UN. Also lies. This president put his re-election ahead of the lives of brave Americans who died because of the cock-ups by his administration. Tough sell. Maybe he can pull it off.

No mention of Obama's campaign office getting shot at Opie? I mean, seeing as you're soooo concerned with gun violence, which apparently just started happening once Obama was elected President...

Man, it must be lonely, sitting in the back of the class all the time. Why not move up to the front row? You might actually learn something.

Congress did cut the State Dept.'s budget you know. Not an excuse by a long shot but it does highlight the priorities of the United States.

I seem to recall a bunch of deaths to US personnel during the Reagan administration. I think he may have been re-elected despite all those people dying in Beirut, be it military people or civilians.

What you and Mittens don't get is that its a dangerous world out there and when terrorists are trying to hit us 24/7 with thousands of targets to choose from they unfortunately get through sometimes, no matter who's in the White House. Who really thinks The Mittwit would have any success in foreign policy? I'm sure he'd offer Al Quada a leveraged buyout, but I'm not sure that's gonna work.

What you and Obummer don't get is that you could talk to these terrorists and apologise until you were blue in the face, but at the end of the day, they won't give into you. In that retrospect, they're better men since they can actually stick to their beliefs without outside influences clouding their judgement.

Good God, what a sick comment.

Show me where Obama has apologized to terrorists Flaggy. This ought to be good...

You're right. During his "off his meds" performance last week, Biden tried to shift the blame also. The question of the overall budget for security of diplomatic installations is only tangentially related to the question of beefing up security at a specific location, like Benghazi. Maybe some of those Marines in the Barbadoes could have been used in Libya.

The problem here for His Truthlessness is the lying. Over and over and over again. Once again, the coverup is worse than the crime.

Did Reagan blame the attack on the Marine barracks in Beirut on a video? Over and over and over again?

Since the news evidently doesn't get your your parents' basement, I'll mention that neither Reagan nor Bush will be on any ballots this year. And whatever they did or didn't do has no bearing here except for Kool aid drinkers. On the other hand, the guy who's been doing an end zone dance for months over the killing of Bin Laden, will be. And he'll have to answer for the failures of his administration.

Did Reagan even know? With his memory loss he probably couldn't remember long enough to comment.

Someone didn't notice all of the foreign trips in 2009, otherwise known as the apology tour. Or were you still too hung over from partying over Obummer's victory?

We might have noticed, if it had been something that happened in reality.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Part III: October Surprise!

Just look up a picture of Obama bowing to the Saudi Arabian minister.

Now GET OFF MY LAWN!
Just look at the picture of Bush kissing and holding his hands.

Women fight for equal rights, job advantages, leadership opportunities, but the second they find out they might actually have to contribute something, they go into damsel-in-distress mode and demand they get stuff for nothing.

Silly, silly old man. Bush II will most definitely be on the ballot this year. He's being personified by a man named "Romney" but really, its all the same.

Sorry Biden was mean to your man-crush during the debate, but that's what happens when you spout off BS. In fact, it was no different than what I do to you on a regular basis out here, only you're older than Biden and I'm younger than Ryan...

Regarding Libya, attacks happen. While Mittens was out using the incident for political advantage before the dead had even been identified, something the ambassador's own father has called for an end to, Obama's admin was trying to get the facts out in public. As Joe said when he was humiliating Ryan, when they found out more they put that out there too, even if it meant going against their initial assessment. That's what you want a President to do, unless you're an idiot I guess...

Do Axelrod's lips move while you're speaking? Or are you really Stephanie "Okay, it's not $5 trillion" Cutter. A lie by any other name is still a lie. You ought to know.

"Attacks happen?" Nice. Just out of curiosity, where did the "facts" regarding that video come from? Since nobody on the ground told Washington. Who told His Truthlessness? And why did he stick with that silly, insulting explanation for days? Wanted to use the occasion to suck up to his Islamist pals? Perhaps.

Was sending Ambassador Rice out to lie on every Sunday talk show part of "trying to get the facts out?"

His Ineptness has to answer for his failures. . .and his lies.

Certainly, it underscores the callousness (as well as the head-up-rectumness) of Romney's statement. R-R can either (1) lie that they never said it (that would be a bit much even for them), (2) lie about the meaning, far more likely, (3) pivot to something else, thus ceding the point, or (4) own it, embrace it head on, and double down (which we're secretly hoping and which we think on their own either is probably tin-eared enough to do, but which their handlers have fitted them with suicide vests which they will detonate on first sign of going rogue).

Every time the GOP alludes to 47% as a dog whistle for "urban black," the Dems should pound them right in the face with the 47% as "rural, white, patriot."

maybe. but doesn't every 'know' what they were talking about... the same way everyone 'knew' what obama was talking about with the "you didn't build that" speech?

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Part III: October Surprise!

I would say for two reasons.

Number one, because whether or not murder is legal should NOT be left in the hands of the state. (This is where this issue could translate to abortion. Is this an issue on which the states should have their power to ban it taken away by the feds) By having a murder law in the US Code, you guarantee that if some state abolishes their murder law, murder will still be illegal in that state. So the question there is, does the fed have the power to over-rule the state on that issue.

Number two, because there are places in the country where no state has jurisdiction. If a murder happens in those places, the fed investigates and prosecutes.

And once again, I was not commenting on the need for a federal murder law, or on the usefulness thereof. I was merely commenting on how ludicrous it is to believe that there isn't one.

interesting. gotcha.
