2012 Presidential Election Part III: October Surprise!

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Part III: October Surprise!

The outrage on the right for such insignificant free speech incidents always amazes me.

I do wonder how many isolated 10 person protests on the left equals a single Iraq war on the right in terms of impact. Probably more than Pio can post.

There's nothing wrong with voicing disagreement. However, if you want to disagree, you put together your own forum and voice your concerns instead of taking someone else's forum. You want to put a one-page ad in the New York Times stating "General Betray Us"? I might disagree with your message, but there's no issue whatsoever in using that platform, and quite frankly, I will defend your American privilege to do that. Crashing and disrupting a hearing in an effort to silence someone is where the issue comes in. Spraying pink paint over a poster because you don't like the message is a similar form of disruption. One person has just as much a privilege to have his/her voice heard as the other.

Hey if they want to use their religion to spout political positions just get rid of the tax exempt status. But they want their cake too.

This isn't about freedom of religion or speech, it's about them wanting to use their organization to try and gain power in politics to further their special interests.

I believe you responded to the wrong post. I was responding to the actions of Code Pink on that one.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Part III: October Surprise!

Come to think of it, if they're trying to push a specific candidate, isn't that a violation of the first Commandment?
Now, that's a new one! Somehow, I don't think so... :D

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Part III: October Surprise!

This "Trickle Down Government" BS that the GOP is carting out right now is ridiculous. You want to call him a socialist then call him a socialist. Don't make up a word so you spout code, say what you mean.

Methinks you doth protest too much. His Smarminess getting his butt kicked has sort of unhinged you, hasn't it?

I see where Stephanie Cutter has admitted they're lying about Romney's "5 trillion dollar tax cut." I'm guessing that doesn't outrage you one little bit.

Money quote: "Okay, so it's not going to be 5 trillion dollars." This is the same babe caught lying when she claimed not to have called Romney a "felon," then a tape was produced that showed, in fact, she had. So your monomaniacal squawking about "lying" really is one sided. No?

Don't care about Obama. Didn't even vote for him last time. Care about Romney lying like Reagan did about slashing taxes and spending money hand over fist on the military and not honestly trying to pay for it. Care about two wars that were not honestly paid for. Care about the Bush Tax Cut that wasn't honestly paid for. Care about Medicare Prescription benefits that weren't honestly paid for. When are the Republicans going to step up and pay for their stuff?

Why don't you hop into the "Way Back" machine so you can b*tch and whine at a time when it would be relevant?

It's an attempt to detoxify "trickle down economics." Part of the GOP's projection/transference psychological disorder.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Part III: October Surprise!

Its 'Pulpit Freedom' Sunday today. This Christian prefers to think of it as 'Churches who want to talk politics should pay taxes like everyone else' Sunday.

Well said. Pastors can be political hacks just like everybody else. Their "churches" can also lose their tax-exempt status just like everybody else.

You mean like the black "churches" that served as the backdrop for presidential campaigns by JJsr and Sharpton? Were their pastors "hacks" too? Or are you referring only to "churches" that don't support His Smarmyness? Let me guess.

Libstain intolerance coupled with professional grade pomposity equals. . .you.
