Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

Code:
[B]Bridgeport	Worcester	St. Paul	Green Bay[/B]
Boston U	Lowell Ferris State Boston College
Michigan	Denver Minnesota	Minn-Duluth
Union Merrimack	Maine Mich State
Notre Dame	AHA Champ	North Dakota	Northern Mich

That Green Bay Regional... wow. Now, that would be fun.
And MN/UND in St. Paul.

Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

Straight bracket integrity for this week:

Green Bay:
1. Ferris State
8. Denver
9. Merrimack
16. Atlantic Hockey Champ

Worcester:
2. Boston University
7. Maine
10. Northern Michigan
15. Miami

Bridgeport:
3. Minnesota-Duluth
6. Mass-Lowell
11. Union
14. Ohio State

St. Paul:
4. Michigan
5. Boston College
12. Michigan State
13. Minnesota (host)

I went straight bracket integrity this week which resulted a higher seed UMD being sent out east even with a regional in their own state. Putting them in Green Bay would result in the highest 1 playing the highest 4 (Ferris vs Minnesota in St. Paul) and the lowest 1 playing the lowest 4 (Michigan vs Atlantic Hockey Champ in Bridgeport).

If that bracket matriculated, I know that there is no way it'd end up exactly like that as there are too many games left to be played. I hearby nominate St. Paul as the Region of Death.

Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

Pairwise haven't updated yet. Lake State and Alaska records aren't up to date.

The rankings should be

1 Boston Univ (HE) 31
2 Ferris State (CC) 30
3 Boston Coll (HE) 28
4 Minn-Duluth (WC) 28
5 Michigan (CC) 27
6 Mass-Lowell (HE) 26
7 Denver U (WC) 24
8 Maine (HE) 23
9 Northern Mich (CC) 23
10 Merrimack (HE) 21
11 Union (EC) 21
12 Mich State (CC) 19
13 Minnesota (WC) 19
14 Miami (CC) 19
15 Ohio State (CC) 17

Since Ferris is going to fly anyway

Code:
[B]Bridgeport	Worcester	St. Paul	Green Bay[/B]
Boston Coll	Boston U	Ferris St	UMD
Lowell Maine Denver Michigan
Northern Mich	Northern Mich	Mich State	Merrimack
Miami AHA Champ	Minnesota	Ohio State

Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

Green Bay
Ferris State
Denver
Merrimack
AHA Champ

Bridgeport
Boston College
U Mass Lowell
Union
Michigan State

Worcester
Boston U
Maine
Northern Michigan
Miami (OH)

St. Paul
Minnesota Duluth
Michigan
Minnesota
Ohio State

With so many "ties" in pairwise I came up with this to have less travel for the top seeds. Attendance should be very strong with my only concern being Green Bay. Ferris State and Denver will have to carry the bracke because the AHA doesn't travel well and Merrimack fans are too new to success and it will be parents myself and about 20 other people.

AI guess that Bridgeport and Worcester are close enough that NMU can play in both. ;)

This is exactly what I came up with this morning...

The PWR I'm currently looking at doesn't reflect what you've posted. Plus, if it ended like this, I don't think they'd send the #1 overall seed to St. Paul to take on Minnesota.

Green Bay
Ferris State
Denver
Merrimack
AHA Champ

Bridgeport
Boston College
U Mass Lowell
Union
Michigan State

Worcester
Boston U
Maine
Northern Michigan
Miami (OH)

St. Paul
Minnesota Duluth
Michigan
Minnesota
Ohio State

How are you getting BC as a #1 seed?

Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

I think we should have the best odds to win if we get in both brackets. At least we avoid St Cloud this year ;)
I guess it makes sense it's 2012 when I finally read a post by somebody HAPPY to avoid SCSU in the first round of the NCAA. Jesus ****ing Christ.

Well, we were the ones to finally give SCSU their first W in the tourny... I'm with NMU423904832048 on this point.

See, this is the problem with doing pairwise at 3 in the morning. :p

But it makes sense because I had the FS/Nt and NM/BG in my script twice somehow.

Once it is fixed straight pairwise works, once we move the Duluth bracket to the east to avoid the matchup with Minnesota.

Code:
[B]
Bridgeport	Worcester	St. Paul Green Bay[/B]
Minn-Duluth	Boston U	Michigan Ferris St
Lowell Maine Boston Coll Denver
Northern Mich	Union Mich State Merrimack
Ohio State	Miami Minnesota AHA Champ
That St. Paul bracket is epic.

The TUC line is kind of thin
Code:
AK-Fairbanks	0.5018
Providence	0.5012
Mass-Amherst	0.5001
--
RIT 0.4988
Wisconsin	0.4984
Michigan Tech	0.4945

As a Denver fan, that is about a favorable bracket as you can create.

Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

Priceless, I'd swap Union and NMU for attendance reasons in Bridgeport. Union might not bring a ton of fans, but a regional in Bridgeport with the only eastern team being UML...that's scary.
