2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

I didn't see anyone else say "if Marquis craps the bed, he'll probably be released." Just wait until we trade Capps and I'm 3-for-3.

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

The Twinks no longer have the worst record in baseball by virtue of the Cubbies now having one more loss than the Twinks. Basically, all it means is that the Twinks have played one less game.

Oh good, I cheer for the 2 worst teams in baseball.

Well, at least one of these runs won't be the pitcher's fault, even if the stats won't show it.

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

Can anyone logically explain why the Twins kept Capps over Nathan?

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

I dunno, outside of Matt Capps giving up three more runs than Nathan I'd say they are having pretty similar seasons...

Sure. What'd they sign Perkins for? Like 3 million for the next 4 years? They'll trade Capps in July and then they'll have a closer making basically nothing all locked up.

So what you're saying is, there's about four million good reasons to dump Nathan. :D

$$$

Capps: $4.5M in 2012, with team option for $6M with $250k buyout for 2013

Nathan: $7M in 2012 and 2013 with team option for $9M with $500k buyout for 2014

Is Nathan at 37 coming off Tommy Johns surgery at $14.5M guaranteed over 2 years a better value to Capps at 28 for $4.75M for one year?

We'll see if they can trade Capps and we'll also see if Perkins can close,

In my opinion, yes.
Capps sucks and for a team with a payroll of 100 million, keeping a guy who is well worse than what you had for a difference of less than 3 million is really stupid.
The guy just looks like a scared rabbit every time he's out there.

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

A little 8th-inning drama for the Twinks! Down 2-zip, but now two men on, nobody out, and ****it/Doumit at the plate . . .

Re: 2012 Minnesota Twins: 99 Problems...

It says something when I'm excited by the prospect of Trevor Ploouuffee coming to bat, because he seems like a potential home run threat . . . and what's his average? One sixty-five.
